When? Well, if you believe love is an action word for those you feel the emotion of love, then, wanting to reproduce a human through love of wife and love of husband can be love of the unconceived. You decide to love someone. Therefore, you love your spouse and want to love a child conceived through loving acts, who is a product of that deep love of spouse/partner. Folks fight to have children. They take medications that will help conception. They even go so far as artificial fertilization, adoption, and foster parenting, sometimes allowing their hearts to be broken for the sake of the unconceived or the conceived of others. So, I would have to say, by default, you start loving the child before conception.

there have been instances where a parent decides to utilize their infant in an effort to save another child, some have even went so far as to have another child just for the sole purpose of harvesting an organ for an existing child . grief is a powerful motivator...
