    Some of his movies are entertaining fluff. Independence Day is a prime example of this.

    What's weird is some people when going to watch his movies are expecting some intellectual thought provoking masterpiece, when that's not what Bay does. He makes big budget action movies. Nothing more, nothing less.

    Makes sense. And also doesn't surprise me why he's so popular. I think Independence Day(which I saw in the theater) was the last movie of his I that can remember sitting through. If I'm gonna give myself seizures I'll play COD or something. At least the plot's better!

    Yes, your average person likes entertaining fluff more than a Stanley Kubrick film. But it's always been that way.

    Michael Bay didn't direct Independence Day. You're probably thinking of Armageddon.

    You're correct. I sometimes get the movies of Bay and Roland Emmerich mixed up.
