As America we are almost the best in everything but education is definitely not our strong points.
according to this site we are ranked 18th in the world (http://eblogfa.com/tech/top-20-best-education-systems-countries-in-the-world/). according to this one we rank 17th (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/27/best-education-in-the-wor_n_2199795.html). 'Why aren't we the best, or at least in the top 5. is it because e are three major forms of education (Public school, private school, and homeschool) are bad, or because not everyone goes to one and the other two are bad? personally I think the public the public school system is extremely biased, private school is way to expensive, and homeschooling doesn't teach social skills.

Private, Christian-based schools are the way to go around here. The nearby urban wasteland has a highly segregated public shcool that is at least 95% Black and serves more as a daycare and Marxist training center, than one that teaches useful subjects. Perhaps if they allowed more Hispanics and Asians from India and Vietnam in, the schools would greatly improve.

well I know you're interested in education here... but could you provide me this list of things we're best at... because I'd be curious to know what you consider best...

for schools I would probably say if they were all "equal", they would all have the same problems... but they aren't all equal, so private schools will always have the edge on educational achievement... I mean when was the last time a private school couldn't just kick out the problems and let the public school deal with them, thats always an awesome benefit for a private school to have...

lets say we have school choice across the nation and every parent was given a voucher and had to choose a school... I'm not sure you would really see any one system win over the other assuming all the other things were equal... but private schools would still lead the way ultimately because they can pass off the problem children and let them be someone elses problem child...

so I guess really my vote is none of them are "best" since they just can't truly be compared...
