    What a surprise from a man who treats women only as serfs and sex objects. Instead of promoting pay equality Trump has given tacit approval to widening the pay gap between men and equally qualified women. Another example of Trump's disgusting and unprofessional behavior.

    Let's see the comparative skill levels and job requirements, instead of pretending "all jobs are the same" ,and other such asinine nonsense.

    I find it hard to believe that the man who won the presidency after hiring the FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN MANAGER IN HISTORY, is against paying women what they are worth, professionally.

    Ask yourself, why has the pay gap tripled under the Trump administration which is slightly less than 6 months old and which is run by a man who has a track record of disdain for women? The question begs an answer and not some foolish excuses.

    Ah, deflection. I ignore deflection. The subject isn't who does what job. The various staffing jobs duties remain the same. Feel free to google White House staffers duties. The subject is why has the Trump administration substantially widened the pay gap based on gender.

    Right. Does the list of staffers include housekeeping, secretaries, assistants, which are positions more often held by women, but are lower paying. Anyone that ever took statistics in college know how that can affect overall numbers.

    It's not a deflection. In a hospital does everyone get paid the same? No. But somehow you are saying a female WH housekeeper should get paid the same as a male WH security agent. I'm not googling anything because you fail to provide evidence for your argument.

    Not to mention that there could be more secret service which can explain the increase in cost but we'll never know cause the OP fails to provide those stats.

    The nature of the position is inconsequential. The question is why have many female staffers in the Trump administration suffered at 37% pay disparity with their male counterparts? Why the radical change since the Obama administration?

    You need more information that you're not providing though, such as number of positions increased or decreased with the new administration, like has already been mentioned, secret service. You're trying to compare two administrations which only works if they are exactly the same in number of employees and male to female ratio.

    Oh, I realize that different positions are entitled to commensurate pay. The GS pay scale. But the question remains why is a female occupying a staffing position under the Trump administration paid 37% less than a male occupying the same position?

    No, the information is very clear. Female White House staffers are compensated differently then their male counterparts. That's gender discrimination.

    If you both perform the same duties then, yes, that is compensation discrimination based on gender.

    Your story doesn't provide any examples of pay inequality, so unless you can provide a specific example of this happening in the White House, I'd call this thread quits.

    The question which begs a rational answer is why in 5.5 months the pay disparity between comparable positions widened based on gender. Why?
