This is yet another sign of your inner, spoiled suburban-girl. You are a "closet-bourgeoise" and therefore think everyone seeks the same luxuries in life as you did such as college, champagne and cheese. This is also the reason why people on your side always want more women in engineering but not in the mines.
First off, when white millionaires park their cars all catywampus in empty drug store parking lots at 2AM and give the LEO a hard time, they don't get tased. The LEO calls their Moms to come pick them up. Second, and white people don't get traffic tickets? Got any more gibberish for us.
Lol..I’m a city woman and lived in both inner city Brooklyn, and Greenwich village. Why would I want more women in the mines? Are those your aspirations? Is that what you would want for your daughter ? “Don’t be an engineer, work in a coal mind.” Remember when I said I didn’t believe you went to college. You kind of clinched it for me when you describe people who go to college in such a hostile way. Maybe your college fantasy experience would be champagne and cheese...not mine, While you were probably aspiring to be a miner, I was trying to make the world a better place. By the way I am actually living in a suburb now. When I was living in New York my daughter was living in San Francisco and we missed each other. She said she would move to Washington DC if we would move closer. We found this city that was created in the 60s to be diverse and cultural etc. The people who moved there were the same people who would’ve lived in Greenwich Village, idealistic hippies! I think just about everyone who lives here is a screaming liberal..and we eat cheese and wine....
Oh my God you were serious! Indian Americans and Asians lead in education and wealth? I will admit when you said Indian Americans I thought you were referring to Native Americans. Please show me the statistics
I was responding to someone else about the Forbes 500 who said Asians and Indian Americans lead in wealth And because you think so simple you thought I was saying that the Forbes 500 are rich because they are white...You make up these ridiculous misinterpretations and believe them and then attack , Your illogic is mind. blowing. No one ever said that the Forbes 500 are rich because they’re white and placed on the list because they are white. What is even funnier is you don’t even know what the Forbes 500 is. What has the list done for minorities? Gotta tell Oprah and jay z and Beyoncé that they’re white . Lol...
Yes , I don’t pretend to know what a black, person feels inside and tell him what and how to think. You seem to,do that.. I listen to them and don’t tell them racism is their fault, Ps you, left out keynote speaker and teacher ..lol. Everything you say and defend is as right as it gets
Unlike you, I do not give two flying horses whether a person is Black or White because I try to judge them for what is on the inside. The only one here trying to tell people how to feel is you. lol indeed. The amount of institutional power you hold is over 9000 and you use it by correcting minorities who lack a voice. Isn't that a bit problematic? So, you admit you are wrong then?
Don’t twist things around again, . And this Lack of acknowledgment that people are indeed judged by the color of their skin. It’s like the people who say they are colorblind when we all know that’s bullshit. I am not telling people how to feel, but I worked with thousands who have shared their feelings...and unlike you, I have learned from them. I have no idea what you’re babbling about in your last paragraph
Some people do judge by skin color. Usually those who want to use them as puppets. There are a great many people who might 'see' someone's skin color, but don't care what color it is. It's people who say things like you do, that believe everyone judges another person, is because YOU are judging other people. I don't care if someone's skin is white, yellow, brown, black or purple with orange stripes. Who they are inside is what matters, and perhaps if more people stopped looking at the outside, and started looking at the inside, we wouldn't need to have these discussions.
This is what prejudice is all about. When we see black people walking down the street we can’t look inside. Do you think when black people are followed around in stores someone is looking inside? When black people are stopped driving nice cars do you think the cops are looking inside him? Do you think all those neo Nazi’s who are “some nice people“ look inside? By the way there are no purple or orange striped people. ...but there ar black people who are prejudged ..They have been for hundreds of years and suddenly the bigotry doesn’t just disappear because it is illegal
And you still don't get the point. How can anyone be judged by their skin color? You have to see their actions, learn who they are inside, before you know who they are. That's why slapping labels on all people about them being bigoted or racist or prejudiced is a false premise. When I see people walking down the street, I see PEOPLE. I don't see BLACK people. You, once again, are using skin color as a defining characteristic, which is the basis of your assumptions about other people. Have you figured out your problem yet?
I have already, in numerous posts in here, pointed out that racism does exist because human beings are categorising animals and since we are also social animals, we create stereotypes. However, most sane people know stereotypes are just stereotypes and if a person percieves someone as decent, they will not care too much about that person's race. Very few people let the collective define the individual. Claiming there is some form of "structural racism" is obscure and more so is the notion of "White Privilege". You know, I am still waiting for that definition of "White Privilege" and the example of how it manifests itself in reality. And no, "Forbes 500" and "wage gaps" are not arguments that in any way, shape or form prove anything.
You keep citing the fact that people do not care about a person’s race once they “perceive someone is decent” ... we are talking about the racism that black people face. You have to know someone to know whether they are decent or not but black people are perceived as not decent unless proven otherwise Most “sane people” know stereotypes are just stereotypes, That is probably one of the silliest sentences you’ve written I’ve explained white privilege to you over and over and giving you examples over and over so we’ll just have to let it go
Have you actually seen the bodycam footage of this incident? It was NOTHING like what the dude claimed.
She's unlikely to ever actually realise her error. When white knights decide they'll step into this business, they never stop to consider their own motivations.
Absolute bull. A well groomed, well spoken black man in a suit will rarely be perceived as anything but 'decent'. His presentation says it all for him, and he can be 'assessed' at first glance. A white female in Trailer Trash attire, with tattoos, and with a terrible grasp of English, will rarely be considered 'decent'. You need to go back to basics, Renee. You're really really outside your scope here.
Your error - assuming that someone places skin color before decent. Because that's what you do, you see skin color before anything else. Is someone standing there, harming none? Decent. Is someone is giving off attitude and looking like a tough guy? Not decent. Oh, and both examples are of the same skin tone. It's as simple as that.
Oh thank you for your answer. I am going to tell my black students that they should wear suits so they will be considered decent. So I agree with you there is truth in there but let me give you a wonderful example again . I mentioned a black friend who is a CEO of a Wall st house and is highly respected but gets stopped often driving to his house in the hamptons in his expensive car...wearing jeans! By the way your stereotyping of people who live in trailers as trash or garbage is a wonderful example of prejudice. And you say peopl shouldn’t see someone’s race.. we should..just look for tattoos
Talk to crank who sees tattoos before anything else. Who sees poor grammar before anything else. But of course not race lol you make it very clear that “someone giving off and attitude and looking like a tough guy” is not decent. My black students will tell you that is what being black gives off to people like you. Very often The first thing people see is black.
Oh, FFS. You really have no clue, do you? 'People like me' don't give a flying damn what color someone's skin is. YOU are the one who sees skin color. I've gotten more lip and 'tude from people with light skin then I ever have from someone whose skin is darker..... yet you continue with your paintbrush, because YOUR ability to only see skin color must be what everybody else sees?? You need to take your blinders off, and understand that for as long as you see skin color first, and the person second, you will forever be a slave to what other people tell you to think and see.
I don't give a **** what skin colour or sex you are do a crap job your sacked do a better job than the other guy you're promoted. It's not hard, capitalism drives this, the left is only fanning the dying flames.
Forgive me, I actually believed the hundreds of black students and adults I worked with In this subject, that they’re all wrong. That it’s their Imagination that they are viewed with suspicion. That they’re viewed as inferior etc Of course I see skin color....nothing like claiming you don’t, That’s something I’ve heard repeatedly, they hate when people say they don’t see color. There is nothing wrong with it the same way we see gender.
Oh yes we’ve always promoted the best person. I wonder why years ago you never saw a black face or a woman face on the trading floor....but when a woman or black, person gets promoted they’re seen as getting “special rights”
