It isn't official, but signs point to Romney as the likely eventual GOP presidential nominee. Rumors have been floating around about who Romney will choose as a running mate and even have gone as far as a few people telling me that he has already made up his mind. I can't confirm this, but the fellow in question would actually make voting for Romney more bearable. Out of the choices, who do you think Mitt will pick if he gets the nomination?

It took me a couple minutes to get the poll going after the thread was posted. You can vote on it if you'd like.

I don't know but I think President Obama will keep VP Biden. He needs someone in that office that makes him look competent. VP Biden is as good as he can get.

I predicted Michele Bachman last December in another forum. I expected her to win a few primaries though and earn Ron Paul's support in the process. I predicted that Romney would win the most states but not gather enough delegates for a first ballot victory. He would then make a deal for their delegates with her getting the second spot in the deal.
I don't give up predictions until their hopeless, so she remains my choice.
Another prediction I made three years ago is that there will never again be a major party ticket in the US consisting of two white men, so several of those people have no chance.

Gov. Bob McDonald (VA). He has been on the short-list for 6 months.

    Maybe Dick Cheney.

With a new heart he should have a couple more terms left in him.

If Romney is the nominee, would it really matter?
    Why would it matter?
Reps vote for whatever they are presented with, regardless of all the fancy rhetoric.
I wouldn't vote for Romney even if Paul sr were on the ticket.

Not if he has any backbone and future presidential ambition.

Janet Brewer, the nitwit Arizona Governor so that the Repubs can appeal to women.

I've thought all along that if Romney secures the nomination, he might select John Thune as a running mate.

    I suppose time will tell.

Why not? Being vice-president is a great springboard to future presidential ambitions.

I suspect Marco Rubio. He'd make a fine VP and compliment Romney's policies. I also like Chris Christie and Paul Ryan. Frankly, I wish that Ryan had made a run for President. Perhaps in 2016.

Why would Romney want a crazy old fart like Paul as his running mate?

I voted for Rubio, but I think Allen West is very viable. Good speaker, attractive to minorities and most others, and would make Biden or any other D VP candidate look utterly stupid in a debate.

A strong defense while cutting waste everywhere in the economy would be appealing.

Rubio just got off the boat from Cuba. Why elect a Castro clone?

I can't imagine that Rubio would want to be associated with this race.. Wouldn't be a good career move.

    Indeed.
He also indicated, in an interview with Juan Williams (?), that he is not interested.

Rubio might be persuaded. Also, he might be more easily persuaded if someone other than Romney gets the nomination. Remember, if Romney does not go in with 1144, it could result in a Contested Convention and anything could happen.

It will be an executive from a corporate monopoly. Possibly the medical insurance industry. His total goal will be to set up laws so his corporate monopoly can make massive amounts of money for the rest of their lives. Or it will be a defense contractor someone like a Dick C, and they will be in a position to create a war. That is why they are scaring the public to fear Iran, they will start another war with Iran so they can boost $200billion a month like they did in Iraq. Hell, same seniero, just change one letter from Iraq to Iran and make Adimajob the new Sadam. Easy money. Americans are stupid and will bite.

Blow up the Iran, and the US taxpayers will pay US Corporations trillions to rebuild it. How will you profit off this?
