Why would your employee need to find a job?
I once had an employee of mine that was a lumberjack he always had chips on his shoulders and usually someone unable to walk is a real reason not to be able to do lawn service...I do try on good days....

If you’re always blaming someone else, you’ll never fix your problems.

It’s anecdotal, but every year or so one of the engineering techs in our group transfers somewhere else in the company. It’s a job that mostly requires Excel and SQL. It’s an engineering support job that requires no engineeering work.

When we start interviewing for a replacement we’ll meet around 12 candidates. There’s always two or three who have recently graduated from college or separated from the military, and they have this strange belief that the system is keeping them from getting a job. When you try to ask them what they’ve done to enhance their skills or get experience, it’s usqually a combative answer that they can’t get those things if we don’t hire them. It’s never I’m watching YouTube videos on Excel or looking for an internship.

We never hire them because, while there’s some truth to younger millenials getting a raw deal and the stupidity of requiring experience for entry level jobs, their success is ultimately on them.

The point is nobody was forced to go into debt, drop out of high school, have kids they couldn’t afford. Everyone’s life is in their hands.
