You define sexual assault of subordinate workers and sexual harassment as mere sexual mischief? How about perjury and obstruction of justice in a federal court and a federal grand jury?

Sleazy sexual hijinks between adults can be sordid affairs about which participants are seldom forthcoming but, no, I personally would not consider it more depraved than supplying terrorists with arms if one posits a moral scale.

If you differ, it's of no consequence, of course.

About two-thirds of Americans approved of Roosevelt, Reagan, and Clinton at the end of their terms, so all were highly rated by that metric.

Sexual assault, sexual molestation, sexual harassment are just "sleazy sexual hijinks"? That is how prostituted the left has become in order to defend Clinton?

So you are OK with sexual assault, sexual molestation and sexual harassment because you believe someone sold arms to terrorist. You have very confused since of moral equivalencies and approvals. Is rape OK because you believe someone sold arms to terrorist?

I guess it's OK for Presidents to commit felonies in a federal court now that someone sold arms to terrorist too? And can we assume from now on if a Republican does such things you will not be complaining about it because someone sold arms to terrorist?

Who would've guessed, a B-movie movie star, would be the choice of the majority con votes here, since conservatives seem to have an aversion toward Hollywood. His performance as President was as lackluster as his performance on the screen.

The fact that politicians (of any political party) rarely do this is not Keynes fault. To paraphrase Diderot "Oh, Keynes, que de crimes sont commis dans ton nom". His advice is perfectly sensible.

You go on to argue what Clinton inherited but you ignore the global economic crisis, that originated in the USA, that Obama inherited. This is typical of the dishonest, partisan way of argument that is adopted on the current Right in the US. No invective is to strong for this conscious deceit practised by the spin doctors of the Koch brother billionnaires.

All the time you are ascribing motivations to actions. This is all by the by. Clinton inherited an economy that had been boosted by a spending administration. He cut spending. All the "forced to" rubbish is just fluff. George Bush 42 also helped rescue the US and global economy at the end of his term, policies that Obama continued. Whether they were "forced to" or not is irrelvant. They both did the right thing. Partisan abuse and smears are tedious boring and juvenile. You're welcome to yours but they are worthless.

More drivel. Government shouldn't be managing anything...but then it should be managing its own business. Don't you realize the infantile stupidity of your sentence? Governments manage supply side, the money supply and expenditure on public goods. Every government. Ever. This is the basis of conservative supply side economics. Ever heard of it?

I live in the real world. The USA is leading a global economic recovery. Maybe not in Hicksville or the hills of Montana, but everywhere else.

I think your invective will come back to haunt you.

I can't believe someone voted for Gore. My what we would give for the max unemployment rate in the recession he inherited of 6.5% for one month. My what we would give for the 52 months of subsequent full employment. My what we would give for the highest deficit in that recovery and under Bush/Republican budgets of $400B. My what we would give for the three years of sharp decline in that deficit to a paltry $!61B. The soaring tax revenues. The increasing incomes of the middle class.

Some prefer the horrible economic conditions we have had and still endure over 4 years since the last recession ended and the Democrats took control of things.

You'll become an engineer when you post on the 9-11 Troofer threads, right?

Where in the Keynesian Magic Cycle does the government STOP INCREASING it's participation in the economy? Answer: No where.

    FDR made the Depression worse.

FDR ripped the Constitution to shreds.

FDR imposed the biggest Ponzi Scheme the world has ever seen.

He should be measured by the extent of the disaster he left behind. He's second worst, with King Obama in hot pursuit.

Clinton is a known rapist and sexual predator who violated the Federal Anti-Sexual Harassment law he personally signed. He's a pathological liar and a convicted perjurer. He's a disbarred lawyer who started an illegal war in Kosovo to wag the dog. He sold MIRV technology to the Chicoms, along with W88 warhead technology. If it wasn't for Obama, he'd be the most corrupt president in US history. He's scum so bad the pond kicked him out.

You have clearly demonstrated that your worship your RAT ;presidents as gods and demigods, and as such you're not allowed to actually think your own thoughts about them.

That never works out for people.

Kennedy provided greater educational opportunities at a time when we needed scientists and teachers and set us on a course of self-examination that changed the way we looked at society. His tax cuts benefitted the working class far more than the investor class. He carried on and strengthened the New Deal measures that Eisenhower and Truman defended from the inroads of the investor class.

Johnson made a deal with the devil trying to win in Vietnam when he should have been concentrating on carrying on Kennedy's domestic agenda of expanded opportunity and human rights.

Nixon started turning that all around. Carter tried to slow it down, but got caught between the oil companies and sugar companies who made the economy tank.

Reagan was senile before he became governor of California and was too stupid to realize that piddle-down was a lie. Working class Americans may never recover from the damage he and his arfing side kick GHWB did to us.

Clinton was okay on social issues, but he was too soft on corporations.

Bush the Lesser did himself permanent brain damage long before he screwed up our military capabilities and sold the farm to the banksters.

Obama needs to grow a spine and move this country back to the left where we were when we became a super power.

    We need another Kennedy type.

I was born in 95' so my experience is definitley limited but from what I've read it'd have to be Nixon or Clinton. Outside of tjeir flaws they did a ton for the country. Kennedy would be a extemly unoppeosed 3rd.

Kennedy was not such a great President and got little done except for his tax rate cut which like the Reagan, Gingrich/Kasich, and Bush42 benefitted the lower earners more and shifted more of the tax burden on the higher earners. His foreign policy was flop and he opposed civil rights until it became unpopular to do so and still his brother had the FBI digging up dirt on MLK.

Kenedy shouldn't be on the list.

If you define "best", a far too general a term in this setting, as having accomplished the most and done what they said, then it is Reagan hands down.|

Second would be Eisenhower who ended the Korean war, built America's enviable interstate highway complex [based on the Autuobahns his tanks used so effectively in Germany], and rebuilt a war time economy into the greatest peacetime force the world has ever seen.

Nixon should get consideration for his foreign accomplishments, but weighed against the domestic and the law breaking both in Watergate and Vietnam he has to be discarded.

Clinton gets third, again defined not ideologically, but based on delivering what needed delivered.

Jimmy Carter was the worst, but only because Gerry 'the pardon" Ford [who also served on the Warren Commision] wasn't in office long enough to do much damage.

Carter, it will be remembered, left American servicemen to rot in the Iranian dessert in a stupid, lame, poorly planned and executed rescue attempt, and if the American people forget that, then they do not deserve the freedoms they cherish.

Oh, wait, those freedoms were trashed with the Patriot Act.

    Never mind.

Nonsense. He had the right world view. Something the others lacked. Politics is about charisma. Reagan had charisma. So does Obama. Neither are the most intelligent men in the nation for their time. Presidents very rarely are. It is their world view tht separates them. Reagan's made him the greatest president of our time, Obama's as one of the worst. But LBJ is the worst.

I find the support for Kennedy to be pretty funny. What, exactly, did he do for us, that was so Earth shattering great? He was a good-looking rich guy (born into it) who cheated on his wife on multiple occasions and responsible for the Bay of Pigs incident. He didn't improve the economy and completely wiped out the conservative spending under Eisenhower (the last President to actually rein in spending with real reductions in debt - not like Clinton). In fact, he officially started the "War on Poverty" in 1963, which would go into effect under LBJ. So, because of JFK, we have billions in wasted spending on correcting a problem that can't be corrected by government spending. Great.

And he's only out-shined by the Left with the morally corrupt, and most recent impeached President Clinton... who, along with Carter, was responsible for the housing collapse of 2007/2008 and sending us rip-roaring into a Great Recession that we're still enjoying today. Let us not forget that he also allowed Osama bin Laden to go free and let up his guard, leading to the attacks on 9/11.

I didn't expect the overwhelming support of Reagan, judging from the previous poll of worst presidents, but it's certainly deserving. My vote goes to Reagan - quite simply the best president we've had in at least 100yrs, right next to Warren Harding and arguably Dwight D. Eisenhower (who corrected many of the Social problems started under Wilson and tried to run a balanced budget).

He was the one that initiated the Civil Rights Act of 1964 - which was a hell of a lot more meaningful than the watered down version that Eisenhower signed. Of course, most conservatives don't view that as a positive!

Ha,ha, when it comes to the collapse of the economy, conservatives want to blame Clinton and not Congress for the legislation that deregulated banks and caused the eventual collapse under George W. Bush, but when it comes to the Surplus that Clinton was able to produce, then you all want to claim that it was the Republican Congress! Too funny.

Reagan was a class B President just like he was a Class B actor. His illegal actions on the Iran-Contra issue were blamed on his forgetfulness, fumblings, detachment and incompetence by his own aides, but he more than likely knew that it was wrong, even if he was incompetent.
