Given that he's behind in the polls, Trump needed to change people's opinions. Based on all the surveys I've seen of the same groups of people who were surveyed before and after the debate, basically nothing changed. That makes the debate a push. Given the current state of the race, it also means Biden won by not losing ground.
I'd say the opposite. The default win goes to the Champ, and that's Trump. Especially given Biden is a two time loser already in running for president. Biden was a failure in the debate. He didn't answer the judge packing question, and it was a yes or no question. How can anyone support such a guy?
In any democracy, the elected candidates reflect the voters who elected them. Whatever your political persuasion, vote for the candidate closest to your vision. That way we will all help improve the system & the end result. Remember it's a process. Incremental steps count. Also remember. . .every vote counts--including yours. VOTE!!!
I'm British so I don't get a vote, I voted 3rd party here as they had the only Brexit policy I agreed with.
Oh, OK. As an American, I was enthusiastic about the EU, & impressed with how member countries seemed to work together for everyone's benefit, allowed citizens of all member states to travel & even work & live within each without tons of special requirements being inflicted over them. Brexit seemed to me to be a gigantic step backward into nationalism, which seemed akin to tribalism to me. I felt sorry for your young people, being forced back into the smallness of nationhood rather than the wider continental perspective they had enjoyed for awhile. I also liked the more open acceptance of people of other countries as co-equals in life, and fellow citizens of something larger than any single nation state. I imagine Brexit being similar to having California, Alaska, or some other state withdraw from the U.S. to become independent. That would be awkward for everyone concerned here.
Yeah, that's a pretty good understanding of our self inflicted wound. It's right to feel sorry for the young but since they had a low turnout to vote they've only got themselves to blame.
It was a **** show. The biggest mistake Trump made was running his mouth and NOT letting Biden run his. Biden will sink himself as he says the most stupid things, and most the time cannot even remember where he is. Next debate Trump needs to just let Biden talk, sit back and just grin,. and every time Biden dodges a question Trump should just say, "I yield my time so my opponent can answer the question, this time for real"
While I concede your point, blaming never solves problems. Young people tend to overlook the value of voting everywhere, including here in the U.S. It's sad, because they are the ones left to fend with the world their older voters are creating for them.
