I thought of how best to word this thread title because it may be a bit misleading though not intentionally. It began with the thought of why God would flood the earth if the whole reason evil exists is because God won't interfere with our free will.

    Of course the idea is that Satan had corrupted man to the point where only Noah was perfect in his "generations";

Cleary Satan was interfering with mans free will yet God allowed it to happen.

So lets see how this works. God creates man and gives them free will. He leaves it up to us to choose, we choose poorly and get booted from the garden, God and Lucifer get in a little fight and he falls from heaven. He then proceeds to corrupt man and God does nothing to stop him, man then becomes so sinful that God floods the world but why? Why not just let us all fail? Why not stand back and leave it up to us to figure out? Is the flood not a giant interference of our free will? And what kind of God creation is this when from the very start we (*)(*)(*)(*) it up and then things only get worse from there?

It would seem to me we already failed Gods test and that we confirmed Lucifers opinion of us so why allows us to continue if he won't interfere with our free will?

Another poser....Satan as a "free agent".

    1. What's the purpose? We are told Man is already inherently "sinful". Why do we need a Tempter around?

    2. How does God, supposedly "all good", allow an agent of Evil (not just a "could go either way" principle like Free Will....but an actual proactive force/being to promote evil) walk freely on the Earth?

    3. If Satan's ultimate destiny is to be "cast down"....why isn't He now? Or more interestingly, why doesn't God go ahead and DESTROY Satan?

Simple. God is all good, but everything he made is bad.

That sounds like the title to a great book.

Yup, the problem of evil in the World is a poser, all right. It's broken more theologians/philosophers/ethicists than any other problem, I'd bet. Yessirree, that's some Catch-22, that is.

And naturally WE are to blame. Which is odd....because according to the Milton interpretation....we weren't even around when Satan rebelled.

So how was that our fault?!?!?!?

I think we figured out where the private sector is getting all their ideas.

God is the Government....of the Cosmos, right? He "rules" the Universe...he's not it's CEO.

Seems libertarians and conservatives would want a little "free market competition" and support Satan so there isn't a monopoly? :)

Actually you'd think they would prefer a return to polytheism.

    Strangely...if it's a system they like...they usually DON'T want any competition.

They always say "If we ran the Gov't like a business, ____ would be fired for incompetence!"

Wonder if they'd apply that to God?
