But only if and when it ever becomes necessary. You see, mass shooting could take my life, but unlike because those odds are 0.000000024%. Yes, the media has you believing it is a high risk chance, but it is not even a statistical chance. I will also likely be shooting back, protecting others, even at the cost of my own life if it comes to that. it is the simple saying, "Cowards die a thousand deaths, brave men only once". I have been shot at, shelled, and I am still here.

They government limits the weapons because then they can control the people and make them slaves.

I would tell you to ask 40 million Chinese citizens opinion on that topic, but they were killed by their own government.
But I cannot disagree with too much power held by large corporations. They should be chopped up. Also, big international corporations should be banned in the USA as private companies, and treated as monopolies.

UK law defines a "rifle" as a rifled firearm with a barrel longer than 30 cm (12 in), and a total length longer than 60 cm (24 in) that does not fall under the classification of long-barrelled revolver or pistol. Single-shot, bolt-action, Martini-action, lever-action (also called under-lever action) and revolver rifles and carbines are permitted, with certificate, in any calibre. Self-loading (also known as semi-automatic) or pump-action rifles are only permitted in .22 rimfire calibre.

They are symbols of freedom, which you are opposed to. They equalize people. They give grandmas in wheelchairs the ability to defend themselves from young fit gangbangers.

Mass shootings are more common because the media glorifies them, and because our mental health system is horrible. The great majority of mass shooters (except Las Vegas which is an enigma) has had diagnosed mental health problems.

It is the general view of the public. People will say it is horrible, but it happens. When you have sentiment like that, it has become accepted.

Yes, a 12 year old kid deserves to die over this. That is why having a BB gun is dangerous because kids do not know the ramifications of their actions.

Don't be obtuse, no one said the kid "deserved to die". I said your example is of the kid intentionally trying to invoke in people the fear that this was a real weapon, doing so at a cop, and getting shot because of it, not simply having it and getting gunned down.

A person should not give a child a weapon, and a BB gun IS a weapon, without proper instruction in its responsible use.
No proper instruction often leads to injury or death or one's self or others.

Again, kids will not listen all the time. That is why giving kids a BB gun is dangerous. My parents told me not to shoot the birds around the property with my BB gun. What did I do? I shot a lot of the birds.

All of which was in play in the state of California, and yet a mass shooting still occurred there. Thus demonstrating the above proposal does not actually amount to anything worthwhile considering.

Unfortunately, the statistics are not well studied, but saying that the Chicago killings are related the drug trade AND the drug trade buys AK-47s and pistols is a strong implication. Both of these may be true, but one thing is for sure, AK-47s are not behind the majority of killings in Chicago. So that aspect is dissociated. Illegal arm sales to other nations is a bit of a different issue than local illegal gun sales. Most domestic illegal gun sales come from either straw purchases, gun shows or person to person transactions. These are quite easy to do and cops go to gun shops on a weekly basis (or more) basis to try and track down guns used in crimes. As a previous manager of a gun shop, cops told me that most of the illegal guns were traceable to an extent, but once you include person to person sales the tracking gets lost most of the time. Some states do not require any documentation of a person to person transfer. It is horrible loop hole that is abused by many people. The other two big sources are straw sales (i.e., purchasing guns legally, but for someone else) and gun shows (because the background checks and tracking are much more relaxed at those).

Because they are not taught to refrain from brandishing what looks like a firearm at others, in a manner indistinguishable from the actions of a violent criminal. Such is a matter of bad parenting, not the availability of toys to minors. Perhaps the parents of Tamir Rice should be charged for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

All of which can be rendered useless if any documented owner of a particular firearm claims that it was stolen. Once such a claim is made, all of the documentation and registration in the world becomes useless, even if the firearm was not actually stolen but rather sold illegally.

What if they did teach Tamir, but he did not listen in that one instance? It is great to make assumptions, but your conclusion seems quite flawed.

Yes, but saying it was stolen generates a police report and investigation. They will search your premise or the place that you claim it was stolen to understand how it happened. There are always loopholes, but without laws there are just even more easily available guns.

Actually use me as the test case.

I was visited for close to 2 weeks by my brother. Mike has since died.

When he arrived, I had hidden in my bed drawer a .357 Ruger magnum pistol.

After he left, and nobody else but him and his girlfriend who hated guns I was later told, was in the home.

I was about to sleep when suddenly it hit me, check on my pistol.

    It was gone.

My brother told me when he left he had to drive the truck on a hauling trip. I thought he was away from my area. But he was a few miles away and never told me.

The cops were immediately called to report the theft. They came to my home and after chatting, took the report and the cop says, it was your own brother.

I told him he had gone with his truck to haul a load.

It was only later I was talking to one of his friends and he informed me after Mike left my house, he showed up at that dudes home and had been staying there.

I could not prove my brother stole the pistol and the cops did not bother trying. my homeowners insurance paid me part of the value so it was not a total loss.

A perfect example of a legal gun becoming an illegal gun. As I said, illegal guns are closely tied to legal guns. This is why gun legislation is not simple as most people claim. Despite this, you reduce the amount of legal guns and the amount of illegal guns will reduce too. The problem is doing it in a smart and constitutional manner. Gun legislation has had many hurdles; one of the biggest hurdles is that gun legislators do not understand guns nor do they understand how to effectively limit them.

There is no way for me to know if the then new Ruger Magnum was later used in any crime. But the simple theft of my pistol, no doubt by my own brother, was a crime. He never got checked at all.

And he needed money so I doubt he kept it. His wife swore to me after he died that she never saw the pistol. He could have pawned it when he stole it.

CA has strict gun laws. This event was in 1984 and I don't recall the laws then other than I had to buy the gun and wait for a period of time to take possession from the arms dealer.

I passed that background check. i have bought other guns in CA and passes those too. Prior to gun checks, I also bought other guns and never was a problem to anybody.

Ah I see. You're an irresponsible person so everyone is an irresponsible person. Projection.

Also: If you were killing small animals as a child just for funsies... maybe go seek some psych help?

No, I did not say everyone would do this, but this is common behavior of a child. Children do not always listen to their parents. On a side note, I did not kill the animals for fun. I was practicing for hunting which I did often as a kid with my father. You might not want to project motives without knowing the whole story. Also, try to avoid strawman arguments because they make you look ill informed.
