Why are many libertarians so brainwashed?

    This is why you guys fail so miserably. You just said you don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*) if out of 1,000,000 people... 999,999 of those thought differently than you, you would not budge on your beliefs. That's the sign of an extremist. The reason we have a two party system is both parties kind of hang out in the middle (normal zone) and fight over deviating slightly from one side to the next. You guys want to erase the middle and go so far from center that you can't even attract more than 1% of the vote.

    You guys are not as smart as you think you are.

    Not everyone agreed with the Nazi's, in fact they tried to wipe out every person that didn't agree with them. Let me know when we start a new holocaust, then I'll reexamine my 99% reason. Let me know when this becomes a religious thing also. I don't see any party trying to force Christians to give up Christ. Not sure how your examples relate to a republic like ours where people are free to vote for whatever they want. I could write in Michael Jordan if I wanted to.

    First thing...there is no middle. You can't be for and against abortion. You can't be for the constitution and against it. The reason why libertarian party is not more of a force is because they stick to making drugs legal and because they believe in personal responsibility. Extreme liberals push no responsibility, offer free money, and free food and free medical. Liberals are succeeding due to bribery.

    that doesn't make your liberal principals "right".

    I'm a Democrat, I pay one of the highest tax rates in the country, do not get any free money, free food, or free medical. Care to make up another reason why 99% of the country does not agree with your point of view?

    Oh. You won't get free healthcare, won't get free food and you actually pay taxes. Most definately not one of the majority. We will call you one of the "elite". A person who knows they got what it takes but the masses need to be taken care of. How can you speak for the majority??

    You're describing the kind of person who obtains his sense of self worth based on being a part of the majority. Sounds about right. "In crowd" perspectives are common amongst frat boy tools.

    Lol, got it. An extremist is someone who stands on his principals opposed to wishy washy sheep like you.

    Go away, and grow a spine.

    I speak in terms of rational beliefs. I'm not an ideologue. I believe there are real issues that the government is most efficient at doing. I believe in organized complexity in regards to our economy, I believe in education, and quite frankly I believe that the government works hand and hand with the private sector, not against. I'm a self proclaimed elitist that simply thinks intelligent people should make complex decisions based off education rather than relying on peoples "thoughts". Like the Sarah Palin/Rick Perry type believers. Anyone who thinks they "know" how the country should be run because they simply "believe" in some ideology does not sit well with me. Libertarians have economic beliefs that are so outrageous that they aren't even considered in the world of academia. They are so extreme that they aren't even talked about when it comes to real world economics. Yet they are so confident in those beliefs, despite the 1% that vote for them, think they are the answer to all our problems.

    Lol, no an extremist is someone who has such extreme ideas that most knowledgeable people consider them extreme.

    - - - Updated - - -

    My sense of self worth is not based on the majority. It is based on education and intelligence. Not peoples philosophical beliefs.

    Sorry kid, there's nothing that I believe in that's extreme. It's you who feels threatened by my views, and feels the need to label them extreme. That's extremism in itself.

    I don't feel threatened by your views. I think your views are extreme and uneducated. I don't lose any sleep because of you 1% (the poor Libertarian kind) nut jobs.

    What's so funny, is you are neither well versed in economic matters or intelligent. There's a plethora of examples of you being wrong on your child like assertions, ranging from economics, domestic, and foreign polices. There are very few times when you have even put forward a coherent argument, or thought. And, yet you continue to beat your chest over your own imagined intellectual prowess. You suffer from a ragging case of self-delusion. Dear god, get (*)(*)(*)(*)ing help.

    You haven't learned anything yet which is why you still think I'm wrong. Trust me, you are a bottom 1%'er when it comes to real world intelligence. Time to start asking me questions rather than making comments. It's not getting you anywhere.

    You have a set of beliefs, and so do I. Unfortunately the media in this country has jaded us into two factions, the right vs. left, conservative vs. liberal, and anything that falls outside that dichotomy is radical, scary, a fools land.

    Could you name one politician or one party that believes the way you do, maybe show us how your belief system is supported by one side or the other, because I do not see either side wanting what you want. On the other hand, Ron Paul admits to not knowing everything and needing help to figure out some of the harder issues. Just because he has a different economic view than yours does not make him extreme, he just sees the world differently that you.

    You base intelligence off of a percentage of how many people believe in something with the higher number representing a greater state of knowledge and understanding. That speaks for itself. No need to ask you questions. That wording is proof that your rationale is inherently flawed and inapplicable for the reason that it could be used to justify any action or ideology of any person or entity as long as a majority are simple or deceived enough to follow along. Seems to me you have yet to learn, not vice-versa.

    There's nothing wrong with libertarian-leaning. Any ideological perspective taken to an extreme however is typically a little whacko

    Libertarians are not crazy, it's just that their political movement happens to attract a lot of conspiracy nuts

    Libertarians and conservatives are both generally equally clueless.

    Too stupid to realize they will both work together or DIE in the pages of history together.

    Freedom is an absolute - and it isn't "our" interpretation of freedom, it is the 'principles of freedom'. Those are timeless and don't go out of date.

    The lessons of history teach this very well, and our Founding Fathers made the arguments very well. Spit in the face of these principles at your own peril - as Amerikans have now for 100 years.

    See the result?? http://www.usdebtclock.org/current-rates.html

    By every measure of freedom - you have less of it today than yesterday, and much, much less of it today than 100 years ago when Amerikans accepted the FedRes Act, Income Tax, and allowed the "progressive" movement to infiltrate their institutions.

    That's not true. Libertarians usually agree on some foundational ground rules, just as our Constitution outlines; but most want varying levels of government in their lives and communities - again, just as our Constitution afforded. Federalism worked nicely in this regard... 50 mini-laboratories.

    We no longer really have a federal republic though, do we?? It is those of you who have been indoctrinated into the collectivist ways of "one size fits all" centralization that demand "my way or the highway". Isn't that obvious?? Witness Obamacare - everybody get in line. EVERYBODY!!

    Everybody except those who are connected to the oligarchy - those "special people" (union workers, government workers, etc) who can get "waivers" - magic wand government for those favored by the rulers.

    Truly ignorant - again, it is you who is brainwashed (not an accurate term by any means - ever read any books on "brainwashing"?? No, I didn't think so; whereas I have), more accurately you have been indoctrinated into progressive/collectivist nonsense, and anyone who doesn't go along is singled out for attack.

    Even your attacks are uniform, in true collectivist fashion. Shouting in unison, 2 Minutes Hate, and all that fun collectivst stuff. Again, it is you and the masses who have been 'brainwashed'.

    America functioned very well as a libertarian nation prior to 1913, b/c freedom functions very well. It may not be perfect, b/c human beings aren't perfect, but it is the best mankind has ever done, or ever will do. Attempting to centrally control a population can only end in a bloodbath and tyranny - as it has in every instance throughout history.

    A lot of people died, willingly gave their lives so that posterity could be free... would you be willing to do that?? No, I didn't think so. You are perfectly willing to pontificate about the need for everyone to surrender their freedom though - aren't you??

    Freedom is such a threat, such a scary thing to you collectivists, that there's no way you can allow anyone else to have it... you're literally offended that someone else would demand to be left alone to live his life as he sees fit - to you, it is perfectly logical to use the force of government to FORCE him to comply with your ideas of how he should live.

    Freedom is antithetical to leftists - you're control freaks, petty and jealous, and by God (sorry for the banned word) you see nothing wrong with using government to control your neighbor, and take from him what you enviously covet as yours.

    Of course the things you have been indoctrinated into (you are the majority, and have been for decades) are leading to our ruin - and that makes libertarians 'crazy radicals'?? You're the ones bankrupting the country and allowing government to become centralized and ever more powerful. That's nothing short of ignorant and foolish - and yet, b/c we're guilty of not following along sheepishly, we're "radical"??

    Wake up and smell what you're shovelin'...

    This -

    http://www.usdebtclock.org/current-rates.html

    Is your mess - you did that.

    In 4 years the red numbers will be -
    Debt = $23 trillion
    SS = $20 trillion
    Prescription drug = $26 trillion
    Medicare = $105 trillion

    That's $174 trillion in stolen loot and empty promises - and that's before you ever begin to factor in the disaster that is Obamacare... and yet we're the "radicals"??

    Yes. It is radical and crazy to believe humans should be economically free and can fend for themselves. When it is so clear we need parents in our adulthood and no one is better equipped to rule us then our current politicians who are the most capable and honest bunch of people from all over the country. They will take responsibility for the rest of us poor slobs.

    At ou tax rates, without the new deal or the other lefty programs that followed, we would have never had a single deficit year, and our surplus at this point would be massive. Instead of our debt.

    Your centralized power models always fail. Always, and without exception.

    I agree.

    So WORK together or DIE in the pages of history. It is that simple.

    Bigoted anti-christian libertarians too hateful to asssociate with conservatives and comfortable conservatives with their guards down and too dumbed down by establishment radio and FOX to pay attention.

    BOTH need each other. BOTH hate each other. If their behavior isnt corrected BOTH die together. Im on your side but you lot are too busy considering how amazing you are the iceberg in your path risks going unnoticed.
