I just point out the derangement when I see it. It's a public service.

A preemptive strike against North Korea would be catastrophic. Kim's guns are aimed at Seoul and there 20 million people living in and around Seoul. Our 28,000 troops are based close by, and they will be taken out in a heartbeat. In one week the death toll would be in the millions, and that is not taking into account a North Korean attack on Japan. That crazy fool in Pyongyang would make the U.S. pay dearly for an attack on North Korean soil. Unlike, any previous enemy we have fought in the past 27 years, North Korea has an effective air force.

For all this to happen because we think Kim may attack us in three to four years is simply ludicrous.

The Russian question is coming around again. Flynn may be indicted. The woman who knows more about Flynn's firing than anyone else, former A.G., Sally Yates, who Trump fired is set to testify.

Then there are all those failures. Trump's wall is tabled until September. His health care bill has failed, and no one is suggesting when it will reach his desk, but it will be quite a while. The Senate will be a huge hurdle. In the meantime, tax reform and infrastructure spending is on hold, and Republicans are saying it would be great if there was tax reform before the 2018 elections. Trump has failed to sign any significant legislation during the first 100 days, a new low for an American President.

Speaking of lows, his popularity rating is 42%, another record low from an American President during the first 100 days.

Trump has a history of changing the subject, as does his fans. It stands to reason, amidst all this failure, that he would rather talk about Kim, Iran, and Russia aiding the Taliban in Afghanistan, although Russia aiding Assad is off limits.

When he isn't talking about those things, he is involved in multiple photo ops lately, in between vacationing in South Florida nearly every weekend or going out on the 2020 campaign trail.

Anything but those horrible distractions at home.

But he isn't stupid enough to launch a preemptive strike at North Korea. Even if he were, Mattis wouldn't let him. American officers swear an oath. It is protect our Constitution from threats foreign and domestic.

I don't know. Why don't you tell me? Are you trying to make some kind of point? If so, please share it with us.

Today, Congress passed a bill to keep the government operating for one week.

The Republican Party controls the White House, Senate, and House. It is quite clear, they do not know how to govern.

We can thank Trump for one thing. He is actively going on the campaign trail for the 2020 Presidential election. For nearly every week since he took office he is holding rallies and photo ops to talk about himself and his great victory in November. Election 2016 appears of be his favorite subject. He can't stop talking about it.

Yesterday he spoke at the NRA convention in Atlanta, Georgia, the first sitting President to do so since 1983. Naturally, Trump started his address with a freewheeling recollection of his November election victory. Of course, he got in this promise to the gun-toting faithful. "I am here to deliver you good news: the eight-year assault on your Second Amendment freedoms has come to a crashing end."

Of course, that brought a thunderous approval from this bunch, but Trump was sketchy on the details. Did this mean a person could walk into the Georgia World Congress Center where the NRA is holding its weekend-long conference with a fully automatic AR-15 with a 30-round clip? Probably not.

Trump didn't mention that he was a supporter of gun control before he entered politics. But then, he wasn't a Republican before he entered politics, either.

Today, the ever-busy Trump is on his way to still another rally in Harrisburg, PA. You guessed it. He wants to thank the good folks in Pennsylvania for his resounding election victory in November. Like I said, it is his favorite subject.

Has anyone noticed he likes to talk about himself a lot? The next time he gives a speech, notice the number of times he uses personal pronouns like "I," "me,", "mine," and "my." It is a sure indicator of a narcissistic personality.

Someone with a narcissistic persona could not tolerate the roasting that occurs at the annual correspondent's dinner. This Saturday night, for the first time in decades, the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner will go ahead without its guest of honor, the President, in attendance. Reagan was the last President to skip this dinner, and he had the perfect excuse. He had been shot.

Totally incapable of being able to laugh at himself or be subjected to good-hearted joking from others, Trump is skipping all that to be with his wildly cheering admirers in Harrisburg. No one will be poking fun at him, and no one will be asking embarrassing questions about the Russian connection.

I said at the start of this that we can be thankful for all this. As long as Trump is on the campaign trail, and he prefers that to actual working, then he can't do too much harm in Washington like starting unnecessary wars and such.

The Democrats have very little control in Congress.

Because they didn't want to be responsible for closing down the government. If they had filibustered the bill in the Senate, that would have been a serious mistake.
