Because they tried voting for classical liberals and rightists, and the result was WWII and unmatched human suffering in human history!! Following WWII they started voting the center-left into power, and it led to a period of unmatched prosperity in human history. A period that was only undermined by the neoliberal revolution which has taken place since the 1970s, which has led us to the pit we are now in.

21 pages and not a single good reason

I'll list a few reasons why you should vote for the right. Maybe that'll inspire you.

-the welfare state is bankcrupt and it will go down no matter what we do. The only thing we get to decide is whether it will take us down with it.

-Europes share of global gdp is falling rapidly. We will soon be a second rate power and i dont want to live in a world in which we take orders from china

-multicultural mass immigration is destroying europe. The social decay that we have seen in all european cities (in the form of riots, terrorist attacks, criminality and rapes) will soon spread to the broader society. What are social problems now will be political problems tomorrow. Unless you wise up you will live to see a europe in which nation states are divided in to ethnic groups.

    - any attempt to solve global warming through conservation is a complete waste of everyones time and money. The rest of the world will keep growing their economies no matter what we do. Our share of global emissions will soon be below 10%. If you want to destroy our economies for the sake of that 10% then you're a retard. What we need to be doing instead is investing in creating new green technologies

-europe is already suffering from a massive brain drain. If you treat talented and succesfull people like servants (=treat their private property as if its public property and steal it with punitive taxation) then they will leave. We can not afford that. We are post industrial economies which means that we are more dependant than ever before on talented workers and entrepreneurs. Class warfare will simply hurt the poor instead of helping them.

I'm ok for help poor people who can't have a job... But the people who don't make any effort for find a job, who don't want work, I don't think we must pay for them...

Spend a lot of money during an economic crisis, that's not very clever... When the left win, the right must always repair their error...

The people who don't work, as opposed to can't work, are a tiny minority. A rich well educated society can afford them. We need poets and philosophers as well as engineers and roadsweepers.

Have you noticed most of western Europe is under right wing government, which is producing the effects above (if they exist at all)?

Euros are leftist because they have a tradition of being ruled by aristocracy where the 'King' (State) was all powerful and could either grant their desires or punish them. The people worked for the 'State' (King) in return for largesse and protection. This mindset is ingrained in Euros still even though most of European countries have changed to quasi-American type governments.

They don't spend a lot of money during an economic crisis (unless you want to evidence this claim). The last centre left government here, governed during better economic times and the effects of their economic planning are still impacting here as the schools they funded continue to be built. In US, right wing government was in power when irresponsible financial practise caused a global economic crisis.

There is always a balance when government changes. When the left is in power, it supports the most important parts of the infrastructure which the people care about. When the right is in power, it destroys that infrastructure and costs the Public purse billions. When Tony Blair took power here, they spent years repairing the devastation wrought by the previous right wing governments. They were approaching the end of that long term plan, when the economic crisis struck and government changed. Even the economic crisis was not enough to secure a right wing government. We have a coalition. However, virtually no one in Scotland no one voted for the right and no one has for a very long time. People have seen the results of that mistake.

As opposed to US who are still ruled by the rich, the Euros have experienced the depths the rich will stoop to and have constructed political systems which prevent a recurrence of that.

The complete opposite is true of Euros from that popular Hollywood myth you believe in. Ask your US immigrant predecessors, plenty of whom were ejected from Scotland in leaky boats when the early capitalist rich discovered...not America... They discovered farming sheep was more profitable than having their own people farm the land and then ran the people off the land. If you don't learn from history you are...doomed to repeat it.

We vote left in order to control the rich.

Nonsense, GW tried to warn about the problems with Fannie Mae but the radical lefty (Barney Frank) in charge of that quasi-government institution unleashed a firestorm of criticism insisting there were no problems all the while crafting Fannie Mae-backed 'affordable housing' loans where the borrower did not have to fully qualify their income.

Leftist thinking caused this crisis nothing else.

Right wing were in power and the only people with power to redirect your economy or regulate your financial sector. If you refuse to acknowledge what is obvious and irrefutable, your helmet must on backward covering your deathray vision.

We cant, thats the point. And secondly, a philosopher or a poet on welfare is worthless. If they cant get anyone to pay for their work then they need to get other type of work.

I dont see any reason why i should pay someone to write poems all day.

All european politicans are worthless maggots. Im talking about policies, not politicians.

The reason why cameron has to do massive cuts is because labour destroyed your country. It was blair and brown that gave you that debt and cameron is desperately trying to fix the problem.

Artists are a hardy bunch accustomed to poverty and suffering for their art. Just as the non-rich are accustomed to suffering if they afford those cut-throat bastard rich animals the power of life and death over them. We know they will abuse that power if they can. We have seen it in action.

Philistine. Normal man does not live by bread alone.

Capitalists are maggots. I am talking about the rich, not the politicians. Of course they are often one and the same.

The country was fine under both Blair and Brown. The economic crisis gave us overwhelming debt as it did countries across the world and Cameron is desperately trying and failing to resolve that. I am of the opinion Brown would have more success in that, as long as he was back in the Treasury and not trying to do too much as happened when he was Prime Minister.

Every time government changes, the incoming government immediately sets about undoing what the preceding government installed. It's a waste of time and money, but as they are usually at different ends of the spectrum a change of government is accepted as a requirement in order to give balance.

More nonsense, Frank was part of the Democrat leftist congress and head of the Ways and Means committee which are the Federal representatives that decide on monetary policies. He and the Demos crafted the loan packages that caused those securities to become insolvent. He lied when he said Fannie Mae was solvent. He should be in jail.

No those Euros weren't 'capitalist rich' they were 'State rich' from grabbing a large portion of the farmer-workers productivity. Those farmers emigrated to the U.S. because here in America, they could own land and produce profit from it for one's own benefit with minimal interference by the State.

Many who were cleared and burnt out of their homes by land owners who wanted to breed and farm sheep for higher profit, embarked for US from this town because they had nowhere else to go.

I went to school in US. It was an amazing experience. Do you know they referred to the Highland Clearances as the English Clearances? I suppose when your history is one of displacement, you have to make it palatable.

High ranking Democrats (including Chris Dodd and Barney Frank) consistently ignored Bush's warnings of GSE failures and his solutions and worked to block any attempt and looking into the failing GSEs.

2001-President's FYO2 budged warns of 'financial trouble' with GSEs.

2002-OMB calls for disclosure and governance of the President's 10-point plan for responsibility to apply to GSEs.

2003-OFHEO reports 'unexpected' problems at GSEs could spread beyond housing market. Treasury Sec. testifies before congress to enact a federal oversight agency to regulate GSEs.

September 2003-Barney Frank (House Financial Services Commitee ranking member) says Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are not facing any king of financial crisis while Senator Thomas Carper (Democrat) refuses to acknowledge necessity for GSE reforms.

Meanwhile in 2004-Bush again (FY05 budget) highlights rise posed by 'explosive growth' of GSE's. (which was caused by those affordable housing minimal qualifier loan programs)

April 2004- Barney Frank (Democrat) again ignores warnings and accuses administration creating an 'artifical issue'

2005 - Again the administration calls for GSE reform.

July 2005 - Harry Reid rejects legislation reforming GSEs.

2007 - Once again Bush calls for Congress to pass a reform package for Fannie and Freddie.

August 2007 - Senate Commitee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Chairman Christopher Dodd (Democrat) ignores the President's warnings and says Bush's warnings are 'ill advised.'

2008 - Once again Bush calls on congress to take action to 'move forward with reforms'

May 2008 - Bush issues several pleas to congress to pass legislation reforming Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

June 2008 - Bush once again asks Congress to take necessary measures to address the challenge.

July 2008 FINALLY congress acts..but too late.

September 2008 - The same Democrats (including Dodd & Frank) in congress who previously objected to all of Bush's warnings and proposed GSE oversight state "Why weren't we doing more?"

I'm not sure how many times you think a President needs to propose reform before you stop blaming him.

I suppose the SNP and le FN don't have much in common, except if we were to take your freudian slip at face value (as the FN is overtly eurosceptic).
But we cannot escape the fact that many of their current voters come from the left, which further invalidates the claim in the OP (if needs be).

You should take it as a tiredness induced slip, not Freudian in any way and take the SNP as being about independence for Scotland from the UK union, not about racism as national front parties in other countries seem to be.

Not pathetic enough to resort to personal attack as you have because you don't have a single valid argument. You have no idea what I do with my life and I am not going to enlighten you. Please also note as you are posting opinion in a political forum, people will respond and give opinion.

How stupid would you have to be to read the views I posted here and say greed/envy are any part of my makeup (if by any chance I were the thread topic and you were entitled to comment on what I am)? Private property hasn't been discussed as far as I can see, so where did that even come from? Actually, are you on the sauce?

Yes, FN is at the far right of the political spectrum. But do you consider SNP left, right, or....?

Edit: According to wiki SNP is a social democratic party which would mean SNP voters are leftists. Pardon my ignorance. I'm happy:dog:

The way you talk about rich people reveals alot about you - mainly that you're incredibly bitter.

If you tax the rich simply because you want a new ipad A) you're greedy and envious and b) you're trampling on the right to private property.
