Raising the minimum wage will not put more money in people's pocket, it will go to the health insurance company since these people will no longer qualify for Medicaid.

    BINGO

While we don't object to the fat cats having huge pay checks we believe that they should ensure that those working for them shouldn't have to rely on government welfare so that they can receive those huge pay checks.

I don't believe that's necessarily true but it would be a good thing if it was. Of course at $15/hr they would still qualify for federal subsidies under Obamacare and it would require a much higher minimum wage before they wouldn't qualify for these subsidies. Then again they might receive company provided health insurance under the Obamacare Employer Mandate and have very low out of pocket expenses.....

Subsidies in ACA mean that most of the money stays in people's pockets...

I agree; especially for Labor. Only the right prefers to keep the Institution of "wage slavery". Some on the left are trying to abolish it through better regulation.

    Wrong again!
Socialists regulations enslave people by keeping them dependent on the government, and preventing them from reaching their full potential. People need the opportunity to use their brains and creativity to make a living. Fewer regulations would allow them to do so. Without the opportunity to become wealthy, a society stagnates. Motivation is squelched. No incentive to do better. The system becomes bogged down as there becomes more people riding in the cart than pulling it. Like Greece. Empty promises of pensions become realized and the people are screwed by the socialists.
Venezuela is finding that out the hard way, too. Price controls aren't working, either. So sad and unnecessary.

Should we ask a standing, Superiority Committee somewhere to insist on rejecting inferior public policies before being submitted as bills.

Some on the left are advocating for the abolishing of "wage slavery" through equal protection of the law.

In point of fact up until about 1970 when an enterprise increased gross revenue based upon an increase in productivity they raised the employee wages correspondingly. Increased productivity and increased employee compensation were closely related.

Since about 1970 that hasn't been the case because productivity has soared while compensation has basically been stagnant and has even slipped into negative territory in recent years.

The "right wing" complains that increased compensation won't result in increased productivity but they're ignoring the fact that the increased productivity has already occurred. An increased minimum wage addresses compensation catching up with productivity and doesn't require productivity to catch up with wages.

the min wage should be raised every time Congress gets a cost of living raise..... then it would always be current and this would be a non-issue
