Why do Republicans still claim that the average American has to worry about the estate tax?

Show us some of these "small businesses" that have 11 million in assets

 

And remember it's you assets that are subject to the tax and not your earnings. Hell in some locations the land your building(s) sit on could be worth a lot that and the buildings more.

And actually for a couple it's over 22 million before any PART is taxed and THEN only that part over that amount

I'm opposed to the estate tax based on principle not personal benefit or the lack of it. All this stuff covered by estate taxes have already been taxed, just like charitable contributions they have already been taxed once.

And actually since the government needs to be about half it's current size i pretty much think most taxes suck. Especially taxes that target any particular group of people.

 

There are over 300k companies in the US with assets of more than a million dollars. And that's just the ones we know about.

 

Add to that the fact rational people shouldn't believe the government shouldn't be in the business of to bring graves no matter how much the deceased had in assets when he or she was alive.

 

I'll tell you what, I've read every post in this thread and if someone called me privileged for being a millionaire I'd likely sock them in the mouth. First off, just be honest, you're jealous little bastards if you think someone else ought to pay death taxes. Death taxes are bullshit. You got to pay to die?? F that.
