Can anyone help me understand how longshot presidential candidates are able to raise funds? It seems some of these guys have absolutely no chance of getting elected, but people are still willing to donate. Is this because they hope to have access to that politician in their current role as a Senator or Governor once their presidential bid is abandoned? Or is there some ulterior benefit I'm missing? Many thanks.
I would rather donate to a person who pretty much holds my values. Our country has been bogged down in a two-party system that is in reality a career political position for the winner with more perks than any king, queen or dictator. If you have evil vs. evil and they both are being well financed why should I donate to their cause. If I find a candidate who can speak for me then maybe, just maybe, a few dollars will help spread the message for a better tomorrow.
Thanks for your reply, and it makes sense, but I'm curious regarding donations to those who are running within the two party system (e.g. Jon Huntsman or Thaddeus McCotter)
Because we will see more and more of them achieving more success. It's a long term investment opposed to a short term one.
thats just it.they cant raise anywhere near as many funds as the corrupt two party system of demopublicans and reprocrats do because unlike them, they are not funded by bankers and foreign lobbyists but the sheople still cling to the idea that they can get them elected even though elections are rigged and we dont put these people in office, the establishment does. the sheople just dont get it that an independent that believes in the constitution and serving the people instead of wall street and the bankers such as gary johnson or ralph nader, doesnt have a prayer of being elected because of that.
