To answer the thread question, they are doing it because many white people in this country and people all over the world have gone protesting with the black folk, in the spirit of recognizing brutal police tactics.

Corporations have many black employees in command positions, and everybody is understanding the spirit of the moment, if not the time. As a fan, I'm happy the NFL has essentially apologized in public to Kaepernick, acknowledging that he has been right and moral since the beginning.

 

Or, just maybe, it was an awakening. Previously apathetic are hearing the message. They're getting the message. They are understanding better. And they want to be a part of the progress.

Or, they could be just cashing in on a 'trend'. I hope its the former.
