Okay so maybe I'm missing something important in all these pages of posts, but seriously... wtf?

The most fundamental of private property rights is to own oneself. Non-consensual sex acts are violent in that the rapist takes and uses the victim's body against their will. This can inflict tangible, physical and/or emotional harm to the person who was raped or otherwise sexually abused. Both the raped and rapists can be either men or women; I honestly do not see what equality of sex or gender has to do with this subject at all.

Maybe you are just being sarcastic Libhater or posted something earlier for clarification that I've yet to read here, but I am having difficulty understanding why you of all people would start a thread that essentially argues the body is public - not personal - property. Not even far-leftists seem to go to that extreme.

What I try to do with most all of my postings is to get various views on a controversial subject with the majority of them highlighting the political madness of the LEFT's viewpoint, afterall, this is a political forum, and being the patriotic American that I am, I believe it is my duty to help straighten out these dangerous LEFTISTS and low information voters every chance I get.

So with rape being a crime issue, I again try to get opposing views as to why people believe sexual intercourse is a crime against the man, while at the same time trying to understand why women are allowed to murder their offspring and that dirty deed goes unpunished. The severity of the two acts seems to beg for a life sentence for the murderer of her unborn, while the sexual intercourse act seems to beg for an understanding of nature and the natural sex urges as anything but a crime. In other words, the murderer gets off scott free while the sexually starved man who doesn't physically hurt the woman does a life sentence. Does that make sense to you? And where I bring politics into the fray is when we see and hear the liberal/feminist mantra that we should all be equal and fight for equal rights--then we match up those slogans to the two scenarios I just mentioned, and we get to see the hypocrisy in liberal thinking and action. Of course there are many more issues to make my point about liberal hypocrisy, but for now, this one should suffice.

I wish you had first hand experience in what being the victim a violent rape consists of.

Wouldnt wish it on many but I wish it for you.

No, its not nice. Seemed fitting, if hardly adequate.

The things you say and believe! By comparison we might call an army tank "sensitive", or "nice". Maybe in Boston they have a word for the level of insensitivity you display.

I survived such an attack. You would too. Could anything else get thro to you? If so, I take it back. You'd survive but you wouldnt ever recover.

You would, tho, quit talking about how its either phony or fun or both.

Ah - I better understand now. My apologies for the confusion!

To address your underlying concern, I do not consider rape a victimless crime. Even if a person who was raped does not suffer any lasting physical injuries, the psychological or emotional harm inflicted can have a major impact on the victim's quality of life - possibly for many years rather than just being something they can reasonably be expected shrug off after a few days. If we could just let rapists go off the hook because they are somehow beholden to urges beyond their control, I’d be inclined to extend that logic to all crimes - writing them off as products of environment and body chemistry instead of born of free will (though to be fair I actually don't know if free will exists). Even if it is true, however, it is not very practical to assume no individual is at all responsible for their actions when crafting policy.

As for why people like me consider rape more condemnable than abortion, it is my conviction that social rights should be allotted to all living things in accordance to their degrees of personhood. Rather than confronting moral dilemmas from a human supremacist, anthropocentric, or otherwise speciesist perspective I reckon it is more proper to apply one set of principles to all life. Combine that with a lack of faith in supernatural phenomena and what one gets is a perspective that a recently-conceived human being has less intrinsic value than a rat, fish, or even a lowly insect. The lump of cells in the womb seems to initially lack any capacity to suffer, experience happiness, or reap any of the benefits sentience conveys to more developed animals. Please pardon my irreverence, but we don't dole out life sentences for swatting mosquitoes.

At about the beginning of the third trimester a developing human being finally is enough of a person for me to feel it is morally imperative to legally defend their lives. Before then I find it difficult to understand why the fetus should be considered more worthy of such protection than a trout, rabbit, deer, pheasant, etc. We will likely continue to disagree quite deeply on this matter because of our differing spiritual views and perceptions of “harm” as it pertains to crime. Neither of these things is grounded in cold, pure logic after all. On the other hand, playing Devil’s advocate can be a great way to tease profound thoughts out of folks; I’ll give you props for that! :)

Rape is a crime because it is forcing someone to have sexual intercourse without consent.

Thread reported for its despicable premise that raping women is a favour to women.

Interested to see what the calibre and mettle of Political forum currently is.

And for any woman that has been raped and reads this thread, I am so sorry that you've had to read the inhuman ludicrous insanity here.

Thread reported? LOL! Leave it to whiny insecure touchy-feely liberals to run from and or avoid discussing their double standards when it comes to comparing women murdering their unborns with women having intercourse with a strange man. I would say that the more dispicable action of the two would be the murder...wouldn't you?

I noticed that; an inability to see anything but her side of an issue. Too bad some of these whiny liberals didn't go to college and join a debating team. Would have done wonders for their egos and given them that much needed mettle going forward.

    Gwendoline's response
    "You're misogynistic"

This same type of argument is also made when people don't want to discuss race, or gay issues.

"here's the reason I believe the way I do...

    the reply

    "you're a homophobe/racist/ignorant/sexist"

So, would women really be worse off if it were socially acceptable for them to fornicate us into relationships whenever they find us in between girlfriends, merely to help eradicate the immorality of false witness bearing for sex.

That's why I'd so like you to experience every moment of terror, all the pain, every injury, and every nightmare that would haunt your sleep for years.

Does anyone have an Aladdins lamp I can borrow?

Wouldnt that go with a double standard?
Men sleep around there players women sleep around there whores.

But would you really want to be with someone who's been around a few times. Would you be able to trust them. Their judgement. If it was socially acceptable and you had a daughter would you be ok with her sleeping around with people because they were "inbetween" girlfriends?

What exactly are you talking about? My concern that these women would subject themselves to the pain, to the injuries, and to the emotional distress that abortions give them is one of the reasons I find the abortion proceedure to be so morally, physically and emotionally unacceptable. Btw, you may have missed the posting here where I gave a brief synopsis of the pain, the injuries and the haunting nightmares I have lived as a result of my combat days in Vietnam. So having the painful experience similar to that of a woman going through the abortion proceedure is one reason why I'm so dead set against abortion, besides the morality factor, of course. I have been beseiged with PTSD symptoms my entire adult life, and as such, I wouldn't wish the same for anyone else--especially if they can prevent the trauma(s) in the first place. So while it may look that I'm being hard on these women, the reality of it says that I'm doing the Lord's work by stopping them from living out their lives in a virtual nightmare.

Im sure Taikoo is talking about the Rape portion of this thread not the abortion (Wronge thread maybe?)
But I am not sure every woman who has an abortion will have PTSD or able to cope with it such as a woman who has been rape'd, Who will more then likely have a disorder regardless of how long ago it was.

A friend of my ol lady's has been rape'd from my understanding and she cant feel comfortable about guys due to it. I actually got a hug from her once I married my ol lady, and she seems more comfortable with me But everyone else she cant sit next too without the panic look on her face.

Yeah, you're probably right, she might have been talking about the raped woman. Even so, I already explained to her that I have experienced similar pain and or traumas if you will, so I know of where they're coming from in that respect.
Perhaps the jury is still out on the chronic or long term affects a woman may or not suffer from getting an abortion. But its been my contention that anyone going through an unnatural and abnormal physical proceedure to rid themselves of an unwanted life would surely have to suffer some sort of emotional and or mental breakdown. I had combat injuries, both physical and emotional that have given me a lifetime of dealing with PTSD symptoms and the many therapies that go with it, so my assertion that these women aborting their babies will most likely suffer some form and some level of PTSD.

I Agree, My ol lady had an abortion due to health issues and I know she dosnt regret the abortion as much as wish she had been healthy enough to carry the baby. But that isnt really on the abortion aspect because "Convinience" as a lot of people put it wasnt on our convinience of haveing a baby it was her life. Which I see some people saying regardless if the parent were to suffer it is "their own fault and should deal with the consequences" So For me to see people (locally and on here) Claim religious beleifs of tolerance and unity to say they would demonize a persons choice based on what they beleive to be right to them is just "Odd" to me.

Your analogy of rape is "women having intercourse with a stranger"?

Say that out in public and you get a cricket bat in your face. But you are the epitome of a coward to make such statements here in anonymity.

No doubt any feminist would run rings around a prime coward like you.

You didn't answer the question, dear Gwen. Which of the two acts between two adults having sexual intercourse and or the murder of an unborn do you find more dispicable?

In my opinion this thread is a flame, this took much thought as Rape is an important topic. However I believe the way the thread was worded is most offensive.
