Why is the right/Republicans so self-righteous?

Why do neocons, righties and the republican party so sure that they DESERVE to have the Republicans win in November.

I never saw a bigger bunch of turdhucksters than the entire GOP.

 

Deserve has nothing to do with it. The republicans understand that this nation is currently facing an unsustainably expensive social safety net and Austerity is in order. That is not "turd" huckstering, it's the general consensus among the world's economists except for Paul Krugman.

It is not our fault that Democrats refuse to accept the reality of the situation, that this nation's safety net is too expensive.

 

The reality of the situation was that the social net was doing fine for the better part of a century.

Then the right-wing starve-the-beast philosophy started to infect the system and suddenly we can afford trillion dollar wars but we can't afford to repair bridges?

Trickle-down economics and the resultant approach to modify the tax code to move the tax burden off the rich and squarely onto the shoulders of the middle class is a disastrous failure.

 

Until the US population outgrew it. At some point, no matter how rich a nation is, the population grows to large to provide a cost effective social safety net.

Oh get off the (*)(*)(*)(*)ing wars already. You're too young to remember 9/11 obviously.

Ya know what? This nation was built for the rich, which the condition that occasional bright stars from the lower class may rise up into their ranks regardless of who their parents were. You need to just accept that fact or move to one of the "worker's paradises" scattered around the globe. No one gives a (*)(*)(*)(*) about burger flippers and grocery store cashiers and baggers. They are the lowest of the low and useless except for the paltry labor they provide.

Trickle down works for me, I couldn't give a (*)(*)(*)(*) less about you or anyone else that it may or may not work for.

The rich aren't the ones who put America 15 trillion in debt. No, that was populist "pitchfork and torch" swine demanding a Government solution to every problem in thier miserable lives.

 

How much has bailing out the financial industry cost us? How about back in the 80s after the SNL crisis?

President Bush, whose administration is responsible for the large part of debt is a millionaire are most of the members of his former cabinet.

We were on track to pay off the debt (the part that can be paid off) by 2006. Then the REPUBLICAN controlled Congress and the Republican controlled White House (*)(*)(*)(*)ED EVERYTHING UP.

So you take your bull(*)(*)(*)(*) somewhere else.

They were on track to pay off the debt because of a republican Congress. Time to get them back in there. I won't defend Bush and his stupid wars and the cost associated with them but you also cannot claim that the democrats have any plan whatsoever to deal with the entitlement problem. All they want to do is extend welfare and unemployment and keep giving everyone all these benefits with no way to pay for them.

Try asking a democrat how long unemployment should last for or how much welfare is enough and they just get this blank look and stare off into space. They don't have an ending in sight. Its been known for quite awhile that these entitlement programs were going to implode eventually but the democrats refuse to deal with it because they will lose a lot of their support.

The republicans are willing to tackle this problem. You see Paul Ryan offering up solutions. You saw Bush try to tackle Social Security. But what do you see the democrats doing?

Absolutely nothing. Just spend spend spend.

Can you show us any case where your dreamed of 'austerity' has worked?
They tried it all over Europe, how did it work out?

Do you or can you ever admit that it was your conservative tenants that caused the economy to crash?
We have been living under the conservative ideal of trickle down, or supply side economics for 30 years now, how can you think that more of the same will work better?

That is the reality of the situation, why can't you cons accept it?

 

I don't recall republicans saying DESERVE. I think that is in your head. Perhaps because you feel that you deserve to have Obama in office for four more years? Why?

You mean the ones they enacted two months ago after they were forced to do so? Or do you mean the ones last year that didn't even come close to balancing the budget?

The recent cuts haven't had a chance to take effect and neither was enough to actually be considered austerity measures. When they cut enough to take in more than they spend and to start paying down their debt, then we can talk about whether or not their austerity measures work.

You people have no sense of respect for an alternate point of view. Which is twice as bad considering how much you pat yourselves on the back for being "open-minded" and "tolerant." He said it's important to have uncomfortable discussions between differing points of view because that's how you come to solutions. You guys don't want solutions. You don't want dialogue. And yet, it is a REPUBLICAN who took us to the point where we were when Obama took office. . .and Obama is the one who has made it better. . .not perfect, not great, but a lot better!

 

Obama spent 5 trillion dollars and what did we get? An extremely tiny improvement in the economy and an unemployment rate that is the same?

It's like giving someone 10,000 dollars to go shopping and they come home broke with only a candy bar to show for it.

The amount of money Obama spent should have our economy roaring right now. Instead he wasted it on crap like green companies that go bankrupt. He is inept as a leader.

Why and how could I do that? Have you been reading liberal blogs or something? Our attack on Iraq had nothing to do with the attack on New York...except for the fact that taking care of enemies before they become a security risk was deemed very important at the time.
