    We tried to pass the fix NICS bill two weeks ago in congress. No democrats voted for it. It was defeated.

    No it's not just a form. The form represents a broken system and no one disputes that. It has far too many false positives and let's criminals slip through the cracks.

    That's true. We just tried to improve the reporting system. Democrats oppose republicans and the Trump agenda so vehemently they couldn't even do the right thing to improve the system to keep guns out of the hands of the wrong people.

    We absolutely want the system to work, but that means prosecutions for those that try to buy illegally. Something you argue against

    At least it is a fig leaf for the anti-gunners.

    We can say that background checks are being run.

    Since the liberal democrat party is refusing to vote on the proposed legislation that would better fix the national instant check system, they are, by extension, voting to protect domestic violence offenders, and facilitate them purchasing firearms. That is ultimately what the matter is boiling down to, and will be reported as.
