Make any excuses you like. Here's a clue, a 3D printed gun you can't print, with no bullets you can buy, won't kill as many as an AR15 with as many bullets as you can carry out of the local shop. I appreciate the level of physical security gun ownership brings. I get why people like and want them. But infanticide is infanticide and when you mix infanticide with genocide, words fail me. There will be a ban. It's not your fault. But it will happen.
actually no, you can still legally own a machine gun. it's just very expensive and there's a lot of paperwork. or you can buy one from your local thug who won't ask too many questions as long as you've got the cash. and i seriously hope you're not trying to imply that an ar15 and a tommy gun are the same type of weapon.
do i understand you are not based in the us? well, maybe you ought to read up a little on our constitution if you think "wee are going to have a gun ban."
And your next Renault assault van mowing down crowds of people, far more effective than any firearm attack in the US, will continue. Mass shootings in Europe will continue, despite your efforts to disarm them.
Sure it will mate. And you can say "I told you so". And gloat. There won't be anything like as many killings in Europe however as there are in America. As you well know. Maybe you should read up on your history and your existing laws. The constitution was written before automatics were invented. Yet full automatics are banned. The Tommy Gun was banned. Guns have been banned and are banned in the US. No one changed your constitution to do it. But if they wanted to, they could. It's just a law. It's been changed before. It will be changed again.
Only if the government is incompetent. The vast majority of mass shooters who were able to acquire a gun did so because the government and law enforcment did not do their job. Therefore the argument becomes: because we're incompetent and can't keep guns out of the hands of criminals, we're going to give ourselves more power and take away more of your rights. To keep you safe, of course *wink wink*. This is how tyrannical governments develop. Actually, I know a lot of massacres that used illegal guns. Every single mass shooting in Europe committed by a terrorist.
i guess you ignored the part where i said there are trillions of bullets in existence and they can be reloaded. bottom line is a person who wants to do harm will find a way. you've had how many heavy truck attacks now in london? by the way, how were those attacks stopped? or the one in germany? or the one in new york? your funny little towel-headed friends couldn't buy guns to carry out their evil deeds, so they improvised. resourceful little buggers, i'll give them that. way back in 2001, we were attacked, i'm sure you remember. it was in all the papers. those animals who brought our buildings down couldn't bring guns on the plane. but they were intent on doing harm. so they found a way. the columbine gay lovers made bombs using propane tanks they bought at the hardware store. good thing they were duds. intent is the problem, not a shiny tool that you will claim is a substitute for a penis. disarming the good people would not have stopped columbine, 9/11, 7/7, or the heavy trucks mowing down innocent revelers and then running into pubs and stabbing innocents at the borough market.
That's a big problem. Possibly unsolvable. It must be very difficult to get such weapons. But I do not know an optimal solution either.
There isn't a solution. Freedom necessarily entails inherent risk. I don't see anyone hand-wringing over the 10,000 dead a year from drunken driving, and nobody is even remotely considering prohibition or anything like what they're advocating for firearms to "solve" it. This isn't about deaths at all, but rather the firearm itself.
Quite a few people, apparently. Out the other side of their mouths, they'll tell us we don't need a gun for protection.
sigh. you are simply wrong. the nfa did not ban machine guns. i could start the process to legally buy one today. your ignorance of us law is not surprising, but it is becoming tiresome. please go peddle your disinformation elsewhere.
