Why the backlash against Indiana and not other states with similar laws? Timing.

    It's the same thing.

What if it is against my religion to serve a woman who isn't wearing a Hajib?

Very well...then you would be Okay with my refusal to serve you because I thought you were Fat and Ugly?
"I'm sorry ma'am but I cannot in good conscience make you a cake because you have obviously had to many already."
Wait you're Christian....sorry dude, get out of my store and go somewhere else....we do not serve your kind here.

This law reeks of legal discrimination. It is time for the religious right to grow up and like adults and treat everyone else as equals regardless.

    Then don't.

Please show me how this Religious Freedom Act causes any of this:

The punishment for pre-marital sex is "100 lashes".
The punishment for theft is amputation. And this only requires two people to claim you stole something.
The punishment for trying to leave the religion of Islam is death.
Muslim men can marry up to four women.... women can marry only one man, and they have to be Muslim.
Gays are punished with death.... for simply being gay.
    Etc....

I could go on all day explaining how this is nothing like Sharia law....
but I have an idea facts and common sense are completely irrelevant when you make your claims.

It's the same as Sharia Law.

    It is the same.

I don't care how you choose to run your business. It will never affect me.

But unlike you, I won't whine that you're trying to "impose" your opinions on me, either.

I'm sorry, I just read the text of the Religious Freedom Act from Indiana, and I am just net seeing why it is bigoted. Could you help me out on this. We have a federal law which is virtually identical to Indiana's proposed law. The Indiana law is nearly identical to the one passed in Illinois in which Barack Obama took time off from voting 'present' to vote for the law. Was Barack Obama being bigoted when he supported that law? This law is nearly identical to the one sponsored by Chucky Schumer. Is Schumer bigoted?

You know what I think? I think most liberals who are opposing the law have no clue what is in the law and what the law actually says. True story.

Since truth is so unimportant in your claims...
why not embellish with some examples of the punishments contained in the RFA ?
    Just one ?

Any comparison at all... or just "it is" ?

    ffs, your claim is ridiculous.
Tripling down only makes it more so.

It's basing a law on religion. Which is what Sharia law is. You are the one who needs to look up Sharia law.

One could also say that it is very likely that less than 1% of the businesses in Indiana would want to exercise the ability to refuse service for religious reasons. Why should 99% of Indiana businesses have to be burdened with this silly law. It just makes them look bad and has already cost the state millions. Just for that 1%. Strange indeed.

Do you honestly feel that more than 1 - 2% of Indiana businesses WANT to be able to deny business to individuals for religious reasons?

Yup, I am. This is the sign of the end of America as we know it. This is what circling the drain looks like.

    No it's not.
It's a law protecting the right to practice any religion.

It is not a law based on one of them.

    ffs.....

Why would 99% of businesses suffer due to 1% discriminating ?

    That makes no sense.

    Of course not.
Most (from what I've read) Christian businesses in the other 19 states are not refusing anyone. Other than a few removing abortion coverage from ins.

Muslim-owned businesses may want to refuse gays, I don't know and I don't care.

But.... if it's only around 1%, why is everyone so fauxraged ?!

So it's a law protecting the right of citizens to practice Sharia Law. Is that really what the majority of Indiana residents want?
Seems like a silly law passed on the overblown rhetoric of the "baker forced to bake gay wedding cake".

Do you think the majority of Indiana businesses really want to be to deny service on religious grounds?

Was this really a problem to begin with.

Seems to already have had a fairly large adverse economic impact on Indian businesses.

It doesn't matter. It's based on religion. It doesn't have to be a specific one. The principle is the same. Religion is the basis for the law.

Our country treats those without religion the same as those with a religion. This law exculdes people who have no religion.

What if I don't want to serve someone because of a strongly held personal belief? Does this law protect my right to do so? NO!

This law places religious beliefs above all other beliefs.

Why should they, when it's been working like a charm for decades?

Get real, even they know, if only on an instinctive level, that there are no rational arguments for such insanity as "gay marriage".

Extreme hypotheticals are used to distract from the facts. Why don't you stick to real world current events. If any of what you claim becomes true in the future, you can revisit the topic.

No it's not. Sharia law is violent. There is no punishiment written into this law.
ffs... why does everyone make ridiculous, unfounded statements like that?
And why all the sudden lefty hate for the Muzzies ?

Doesn't matter what it sounds like to you.
If you don't like it, vote against it when it comes to your town.

Absolutely not... which is why I ask why you guys are so freakin' upset over such a non-issue.

No, not if you look at it from the silly "deny service" POV.
But if you looked at it from a more realistic POV, yes.... businesses were being forced to include abortion coverage in their employee ins policies.
And yes, bakers/florists/hall owners were being sued out of business for saying "I can sell product to you, but not for that event".

    Of course it does.
You keep running with that silly claim that it's "the same as Sharia law".
A law based on a religion that says kill those who disobey.

    Don't.
    You're welcome.

So the problem isn't discrimination..... it's that you can't discriminate.

    {cuckoo... cuckoo...}

    lol....

While there is no way anyone can determine that yet (aka B.S.)..... I would say "good".

Let the market decide what it supports and what it doesn't.

Just stop forcing people to do things they don't believe in.
