The government has pretty much been in the way of my business. Do you lib-***** know how much accounting/ licensing/ OSHA/ disability insurance/ social security/ medicare/ and tax filings have to be done for a small business? The feds have been my biggest "client" yet never wrote me a check. Then you start to work on plowing the regulations out of the way for your clients: Corps of Engineers, state EPA, erosion control, local planning and zoning, building inspections...
The article refers to race, not anyone on this forum that I've seen. You're confusing wealth and success. It's entirely possible to be wealthy without intelligence or having to work hard -- lottery winners, trust fund babies, reality TV stars. It works the other way too. You can be successful without wealth if your priorities are not money. I started with nothing and I worked hard for what I have. I never aspired to great financial wealth but I wanted to be comfortable, which is where I am, so I am successful. Can you say the same or do you expect the government to take care of you?
If you say so skippy, getting a loan from the .gov is the same as getting a student loan to go to college. Getting farm subsidies is the same as receiving food stamps....different people receiving help from the government in different ways.
I'm still at a loss as to your question. Is it ....how do i feel about businesses who repay their loans and do not leave the taxpayers hanging? Is that your question? Please be crystal clear with your question.
I'd say you're lying ... my father is a consulting mechanical engineer (HVAC & Plumbing) ... Federal Govt. & DOD contracts got him started after leaving a small engineering firm .... and he became quite successful with about 20 + employees then branched-off into private contracts as well as govt. contracts ... quite lucrative ... so I'd say you're whining about running a business or incomptent ..
Context schmontext. The context is that he attacks personal achievement and rewards failure. Even a socialist like Lech Walesa sees that!
oh, I'm so sorry you have to provide a safe work environment for your employees, I'm also sorry you have to abide by the regulations that make sure you don't f'up the the environment. But there are other countries you can take your business to that do not require the "stupid" laws that are required here. Maybe if people in business before your business didn't f'up so bad, then there would not be regulations put in place to prevent it from happening again.....
And your posts are full of thoughtful introspection and careful debate? The right here always wants to take a thread to it's lowest level, and then have a nice hearty circle jerk. Aren't there right wing women out there besides Sarah and Ann?
No, you mean you're in shuck & jive ... the Star of Willards beitfart-edit simply copped-too the lie ... The businessman, Jack Gilchrist, also acknowledged that in the 1980s the company received a U.S. Small Business Administration loan totaling “somewhere south of” $500,000, and matching funds from the federally-funded New England Trade Adjustment Assistance Center. *I’m not going to turn a blind eye because the money came from the government,” Gilchrest said. As far as I’m concerned, I’m getting some of my tax money back. I’m not stupid, I’m not going to say ‘no.’ Shame on me if I didn’t use what’s available*
Your whole argument comes down to "I need protection from you because of what someone did to someone else". Libs...omg.
Yeah, because an office is such a dangerous place, and we just love dirty air and water, blah, blah, blah....
Your fatalistic approach to life is saddening. You certainly can become wealthy and it is proven daily in this country. It only depends on your willingness and ability to learn from your mistakes and your willingness to take a risk on your future. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. We the people of the TEA Party will do more than just nudge. We are knocking the doors down and taking over.
have the loans been repaid or is that not valid in this discussion? You are getting close to actually coming forth with your question; you'll get there eventually
Yeah, because admitting that you were helped is such a tremendous attack on someone's achievement. God forbid you don't be a prick about it.
So because he paid off the loans... it means that he didn't receive the assitance in the past? Is this the same thing as retroactively retiring from a firm?
no, the argument comes down to companies not caring about the well being of their employees, (ie. not providing safety harnesses, proper training, etc.) and instead, are looking after their bottom line....I don't know what is so difficult to understand about that... yea..libs started OSHA....nice one buddy
yea..it can be, asbestos, mold, trips and falls....heaven forbid someone wants a safe work environment....
LOL, she's not a fashion model, she's famous for a sex tape. So you guys need to warm up that video camera, find your mistresses, and do the do for us, and then you'll be successful and rich.
Obama didnt earn those millions, Billy Ayers did.... You remember Bill Ayers right? Thats him standing on the American flag.....
No, sorry, intra-generational social mobility in the United States is poor compared to other countries. The fact that you try to make up claims about how easy it is to advance upwards in income is just sad.
