Russia has elections regularly. But if you talk to any Russian, they’ll say they have no alternatives - their mass media just doesn’t let other candidates get much publicity.
You let suppression of freedom of speech slide once, and you might end up with no alternatives for the rest of your lifetime.
I’m not really worried about the life inside of the United States - even if authoritarianism will get to a point of conversion of this country into an empire our leaders will still need to be fairly populist. I do feel sorry for the rest of the world though.

I think if by some disaster Biden wins, he won't be president anyway; anymore that Jeff Dunham's "Walter" character would be if he had been elected. For all practical purposes, Biden is serving the identical role, and he is not calling the shots, nor will he be in charge.

It's the perception; the picture that any rational open minded person should see. Not one thing; dozens of things all being markers of the same characteristic. Connect the dots, see the picture- just like you did as a child; not difficult.
Allowing party pressures to determine what you say. Have people checking to see what people want to hear before you speak. Avoiding response to unscripted questions. Avoiding speaking when possible. Endorsing positions that you have repeatedly rejected before in your career. Rejecting positions you have previously endorsed in your career. Accepting or failing to speak down the kind of crap nonsense coming from AOC and the squad, because it appears to have some popular acceptance. Same behavior you could get out of a trained dog.

If you haven't seen that, you have selective vision, and an ophthalmologist won't be able to fix it.

 

When you get older- and hopefully wiser and more astute at things, you don't need things to be quite so simple. And of course in this case, Biden himself is making the dots, every time he shifts course, avoids tough questions, goes back to the basement or makes another gaffe that says he's not really thinking fluidly and fluently.

If Trump had made even a few of the statements Biden has made that showed loss of recall, inability to identify or remember- the left would be having a field day. Biden can't remember if it's him or Harris on top of the ticket. He's been a politician for 50 years, and can't recall the most important sentence of the Declaration of Independence.
