Ok. I'll repost here, for ease of reading.
Ok? I pointed out that the winner will still have a positive net result, regardless of whether dinner with Obama is valued at $.01 or $1,000,000, because the taxes will only be (naturally) a portion of that value.

You then (1) alluded to a prior incident where Obama's team forgot to have someone pay a lunch bill and had to return to pay it, and (2) made a couple of cliche statements with no discernible debate value whatsoever.

It would seem, therefore, that I was correct - instead of making a cogent, responsive post, you changed the topic and posted trite nonsense.

What am I missing? Pretend I'm one of your friends with Obama Derangement Syndrome, and explain it real carefully.

Better yet... Why don't you go and make a thread called "I hate Obama," and then post everything you hate about Obama in one place, and then we can stop wasting our time on your threads, which are nothing but poorly-veiled attempts to do exactly that?

Have you ever seen the tax code? I'm pretty sure not understanding it is not unique to one political school of thought.

*shrug* This is what happens when all you're concerned about is party. Hell, Romney really is no different than the President - his own words JUST THIS MONTH prove it.

But they don't care. They'll vote for him anyway and turn a blond eye to his abuses.

ODS is a condition in which a person votes FOR obama.

    I have no such friends.

    Get back on subject.

By and large, the type of people that would enter this contest are those that didn't read beyond the word "free meal". So, they went ahead and entered the contest without bothering to read the rules.
Then when they win, they will be presented with a contract for them to sign. Of which they will spend as much time reading as they did with the rules to the game.
Come around the time for them to file their taxes, if they even have a job, they will not mention this prize because they had no knowledge that it was taxable.
Many years, and an obscene interest rate later, the IRS will come after them for non-payment and take everything they have.

Don't be a victim of the obama dinner scam.

No, that's OOS - Obama Obsession Syndrome. ODS is the conservative version.

Anybody that would vote for obama can accurately be called deranged.

A marginally better change. But, the journey of a thousand miles....

Lol, he's Obama's clone. It's not even marginally better. It's the same. You're not starting the thousand mile journey, you're being the retarded monkey that shoots itself in the face while the other runners reach the finish line.

Well, seeing as Romney has shown a glimmer of fiscal responsibility and obama hasn't, Romney is still the better choice.

What is the subject, anyway? Considering you seem - three times in a row, now - completely incapable of responding to my posts in any meaningful fashion.

They are the same rules for every single contest in the United States. When you have a gain, you pay income tax on that gain. Contest winnings are gain.

As my tax professor tells his clients, "strangely enough, the IRS considers cash to be money."
Why would they be presented with a contract?
As most have done. As you have assuredly done at one time or another.
LOL... You know less about the IRS than you do about arithmetic. The IRS interest rate on unpaid taxes is 3% plus the federal short term rate, currently 0.19%. The maximum penalty is 25%. So, even at the maximum penalty, we're talking about peanuts here.

Peanuts, as in, too small an amount of money for the IRS to bother with. If they ever even discover the mistake, they might send a few nasty letters and phone calls. And that's about it.

You seriously think this is a "scam" to get people in hock to the IRS? Completely asinine.

    This is classic ODS.

In the UK you do not pay any tax on lottery winnings, no matter how big. The tax is paid on the BET not the winnings. Since, in all gambling situations, the amount collected in bets is always more than the amount paid out in winnings, the government ends up making more money.

Obama even "sticks it to" those who like him, and they are dumb enough to still have stary-eyes.

Where has he done that, exactly? Certainly not in Massachusetts.

3 posts in a row now, with no salient response to any of my points. Are you conceding, then?

Maybe you are just too stupid to put the pieces together. Have you ever thought of that?
