Don't. Trust me when I say that theists, in my experience, grieve as much - and often more so - as any of us do when dying or when losing loved ones. These gods provide exactly zero comfort, when the sh#t hits the fan. Zip. The wailing and rending of garments at the (apparently sudden) realisation that death is a reality overwhelms 'em. I think they end up suffering more as a consequence. I've never yet seen a theist or loved one say they're happy for the death to occur, so that X can meet jesus.

I went to a Christian funeral a few weeks ago, and it was bloody awful. And I don't mean awful in the usual sense - because some funerals are really lovely and special. It was awful because it was literally a chapel full of sobbing Christians, and a pastor droning platitudes about someone he really didn't know very well. There was absolutely no sign of comfort apparent, in either those left behind, nor in the words of this pastor. He said 'she's with the lord' etc endlessly, but it was as meaningful in the face of such powerful grief as saying 'she's in a coffin lined with purple silk'.

HMMM.......me thinks your version has way too many words. Work on it some more, cut out about 12-15 words and we'll discuss it....

I've always liked.....Death is the next great adventure

The first phrase would be enough, that it'd be a great adventure to the very optimistic mind. That's what it would take to think there's anything after death resembling a great adventure.
