Where does the constitution require a vote or say the executive can decide house rules for them?

There is nothing legitimate about their request. It's abuse of power for political purposes.

When asked to explain why his office made changes to its whistleblower forms in September and backdated those changes to August when the anti-Trump “whistleblower” complaint was filed, Atkinson had no answer.

Also Atkinson could not explain the 18 day window from the call to the complaint or why the whistleblower did not disclose his contact with Schiff's office. Also, the whistleblower is a democrat and worked with a prominent democrat.

The House only works by voting. That is what it is there for. The constitution does not give the House subpoena power either so...

That's what we thought. Which means, without a VOTE the President can claim Executive Privilege on EVERYTHING. As more and more comes out, it will destroy the Democrats. All the Leftist have are anonymous partisans and a transcript that exonerates the President. The EU Ambassador has already emphatically stated in his texts, "NO QUID PRO QUO".

As the MSM / Democratic Party lies are torn down, Trump will rise and rise and rise in the polling. The Leftists will lose no matter which way this goes, the only question is how badly will they lose? Enough to lose the House too?

It's a bold prediction that flies in the face of the actual data.

They only "seem" that way because you are taking an incredibly short sighted and hyperpartisan view.

Lol yah I guess the admin is terrified he’ll testify and say no QPQ, great reason to obstruct.
Just stall tactics. Nothing says the house has to have a vote first.

The dems are now forced to. They either have to take their garbage to Court or vote.

Theirs and their sycophants' whining, including on this forum won't advance their coup agenda one iota.

And they ARE terrified to vote, cause when they do, they're screwed.

That they have no ****ing case lol, that they are attempting to unseat a legitimate (it's not in doubt that Trump was legitimately elected after the Russia hoax fell apart, is it?) President based on one innocuous statement in one phone call, that dem moderates promised independence and bipartisanship and delivered blind party loyalty and division....

Rest assured the dems are screwed if they don't impeach too.

Please point to statements from two (2) Democrat House members indicating they are afraid/terrified/remotely nervous about voting for the Inquiry??

They don't remotely have to go to court... They can hold House votes on Impeachment or Inquiry anytime they want...

Obviously, he'll lose every case on the merits, but anything that goes to a court is a short term Trump win for the delay factor, so those days are over..

Trump sought campaign assistance from a foreign government in the form of an investigation against his domestic political rival while he simultaneously and unilaterally held up hundreds of millions in military aid and then tried to hide, lie about, and obstruct the investigation.

And a majority of Americans support the impeachment inquiry and support for his impeachment and removal is already unprecedented.

No case? Good luck barking up that tree.

1 i will give you something better than their statements - their actions. They have been bleating about impeachment for years, they claim to have the crime and the votes, they call a Congressional investigation by a totally made up name "impeachment inquiry"... BUT THEY ARE ******** THEIR PANTS TERRIFIED TO VOTE because they know they have no case.

    2. They don't have to go to Court and they don't have to vote.... and their kangaroo process will not get a single witness or a single document until they do. Separation of powers and executive privilege are a bitch, right? Lol

And if Dems believed they have a real case, the Dems would have voted for impeachment. Lol

Lame whinging doesn't impeachment case make. Focus on their actions dude or lack of thereof, not on some bogus lies spread by lying partisan hack like Schitt and fat Jerry.

That's a circular argument. You are using the conclusion as evidence for the conclusion.

There is a perfectly rational and intelligent political reasoning behind the decision to announce the inquiry without a vote. At the time of the announcement, they did not have the whistleblower complaint or the transcript. It was entirely possible that one or both would make the impeachment vote look weak and cause a revolt amongst the caucus, so Democratic leaders needed a convenient out in the event that such took place.

It did not, it intensified the calls for impeachment. And then, after seeing how much information they already are able to obtain without a vote (they got text messages from the diplomats as well) and they saw a dramatic uptick in public support for the impeachment and inquiry, their incentive to hold a vote kept staying low. And now they are on recess with congressional members meeting their constituents across the country. There is very little incentive to force those members to return right now when the public is already on their side and any obstruction just makes the articles of impeachment all the more justified and damning.

Obstructing the investigation by preventing individuals from testifying now just reeks of desperation.

Good luck making that argument stick.

I also don't get why you think including multiple "lols" in every post somehow makes your argument any stronger.

Although it's annoying to plan for witnesses that don't show, I'm sure Schiff is not super upset about this no-show today.

It would have been interesting to have Sondland confirm that Trump or somebody in his failed administration dictated that one response to Taylor, but it's just chasing shadows...

Trump was toast the minute the rough transcript was released when he said Biden out loud (8 times???) during a discussion of "corruption"...
