Crazy just how easy it is to milk the system and how little effort is made to verify the validity of the claims - when you see abuses like this then you can't just blame "greed" or "selfishness" for the reason so many people are pissed off about it:

I have been on welfare years ago when younger and had my first child, I can say it was not easy, it was painful and I was glad to finally get a job and not need to be on it

if she were black, you'd would give her a pass, you know, because 300 years ago, someone enslaved someone else.

Thanks for telling me what I would do. Like many other things, no doubt, you are wrong.

If she's found to have committed fraud, she should be punished. Scum like her are just taking away from people who desperately need what little help social welfare provides.

I do not even know what race she is, only that she lived in a mansion and was scamming welfare

race in this story is irrelevant

The Government (both Federal and State) should make her pay back all of the welfare checks she has received.

Thank's for your honesty. It's nice to know that my tax dollars are being used properly and that social safety nets can actually help people.

The logic of threads like this is faulty. "Because a system can sometimes be scammed, we should get rid of the system."

By that logic, we should get rid of credit cards, because of identity theft.

And we should get rid of driver's licenses, because people sometimes make fake ones.

And we should get rid of money, because counterfeiters exist.

Any human system will have a certain percentage of fraud. Unless that percentage is very high, its existence has no relevance to whether the system is valid or not.

From the tile of the thread I thought the thread was about Michelle Obama. She's been living off the tax payers going on to eight years and lives in a big mansion at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Something I need cleared up. 'Agents raided the home' ,, what kind of agents? I've got visions of a military style operation. Why wasn't the woman sent a subpoena to appear in court to repay the welfare, like in civilised countries.

To clear things up,, I don't condone welfare cheating one bit.

Can I quote this, with adjustments of course, when the next nut case goes out an shoots people?

"Nut case breaks law and is now being investigated for murder.

    Next."

So what you're saying is that there are laws and when they are broken people should be punished. Getting rid of something that helps many because a few abuse it is wrong.

    Check

WTF does that have to do with some women committing fraud to get welfare benefits?

I law is a law. People break them all day every day. No shouting, or gnashing of teeth to make the system harder or more complex to help the people that really need the help instead of a criminal?

I'm sure with today's federal government there were SWATT officers involved. Under the Obama administration every executive branch of government now has it's own police force and it's own SWATT including the Department of Education and the Department Health, I (*)(*)(*)(*) you not.

    True story:

There was this coffee shop that got behind in paying it's taxes to the IRS. One morning the coffee shop was raided by the IRS, sub machine guns, body armor, black military helmets they looked like Delta Force.

They came in yelling and screaming ordering everyone to put down the coffee cups and forks and stop eating those eggs and bacon and to exit the coffee shop.

This one waitress was in shock but she picked up a donut and took a bite out of the donut and this one IRS agent started yelling at her, "PUT THAT FREAKING DONUT DOWN !!! THAT DONUT BELONGS TO THE U.S. GOVERNMENT !!!"

funny how quickly you want to dismiss a crime for your agenda.... remember, for lefties, welfare fraud cases are isolated incidents, otherwise, reform may happen.

but when it's a gun crime... suddenly, it's not an isolated incident for you.

does this also apply to those who abuse gun laws, that other gun owners shouldn't have their rights taken away because of one lone wolf? or does your stance end where your talking points end

Don't know what you mean by verify the validity. Sounded like her husband may have been pretending to be her landlord. Either way, if they broke the law, prosecute them.

so next time a gunman kills someone at a school, don't try to get rid of my guns that I use for self-defense/hunting, punish the criminal instead.

So you are equating welfare fraud with a mass shooting? That's stupid.

    - - - Updated - - -

If there was a problem with people being killed by welfare checks, I'd be all for getting rid of them.
