Another sad story due to Obamacare. There really is nothing good about this law. It needs to be repealed and replaced with sensible healthcare solutions. Obama strikes again.

(*)(*)(*)(*)ty situation. None of this would have happened had the Repubs participated in this bill. Instead they refused and now look what happened? Disaster. Also the insurance companies are to blame. How many people with cancer or diseases were refused insurance because of pre existing conditions?

In conclusion, the democrats, repubs, insurance companies are all to blame for this fiasco.

It is the Republican's fault that Obamacare isn't living up to the promises made by the Democrats?

You clearly don't understand the concept of insurance. You purchase insurance to protect yourself against possible future losses. You are supposed to purchase health insurance before your health fails. How difficult is that? Do you think that people should be able to purchase car insurance after they have wrecked their car and then the insurance company should be responsible for paying to get it fixed? Should a person be able to purchase homeowner's insurance after their house has burned down and expect the insurance company to rebuild that house?

ObamaCare was flawed from the beginning.

You are going to force the majority to pay more and get less so that Obama can give free health insurance to 30 million who pay nothing.

That is false. They were given a chance to participate in drafting the bill. They refused.

What is a pre-existing medical condition? The term can include just about any medical condition that you had before applying for insurance. Obviously, it includes serious problems like cancer, heart disease, and depression. But even acne, high cholesterol, or an old sports injury can be called a pre-existing condition. So can pregnancy, in some cases.

Marmor suggested that Obama badly miscalculated the role that Republicans would play, saying the president assumed the GOP would want to help shape the new law. In the end, Republicans refused to cooperate and the law passed without a single GOP vote in the House or the Senate.

What do they mean by a loophole in Obamacare? Did this insurer find a way around the added protections in the ACA which should have prevented her from being dumped?

Goes to show you what for-profit insurance is really all about. If they can find a way to cut you off when you get sick, they will do it in a heart beat.

    "Due to Obamacare?"

So people haven't been getting knocked of their insurance for expensive conditions for decades now?

I don't know, it's like we're supposed to forget the past transgressions of the health insurance industry. We're supposed to forget that premium increases have been beating inflation by a good margin for decades. That "acne" can be considered a pre-existing condition and a reason to kick someone off insurance. That people have been removed from their insurance when they needed it most. Most importantly, that the majority of bankruptcies in the US were due to catastrophic medical costs and the majority of those had insurance when it started.

So, as we trudge through all the misinformation and lies being pushed out by the right-wing, I'm willing to give "Obamacare" a chance because it represents an attempt to address a "bette noir" that everyone has been afraid to tackle headon.

Really? False? Try again, it is just more Obama lying bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

Of course, Americans have been dismayed by the fact that the President has broken his own pledge to hold televised health care talks. We can only hope this televised discussion is the beginning, not the end, of attempting to correct that mistake. Will the President require that any and all future health care discussions, including those held on Capitol Hill, meet this common-sense standard of openness and transparency?

The government had no say in the matter; it was a decision soley based on the insurance company. There is no mandate in Obamacare that requires insurance companies to drop insured people.

Ummm, he can't run for a 3rd term so I'm not sure who would be dragging or kicking him out. He is gone in 2017 no matter what.

If I am not mistaken, insurance enrollment runs until the end of the year, and she should then be picked up by Obamacare insurance, with no lapse in coverage. If this doesn't happen, I hope she sues the holy (*)(*)(*)(*) out of the insurance company and Obama. This is the (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up crap Obama and the democrats have thrust upon the American public. Next years elections will be the results of this debacle

We were told this can't happen under Obamacare.

We are far worse off than we were before this Obamacare crap went through. Its the worst piece of legislation to ever become law. And thats a fact jack.

    - - - Updated - - -

There is a mandate that certain policies are no longer acceptable, as in the case of this woman, so the policy had to be cancelled because it didn't meet Obamacare standards.

    Obamacare kills

Oh well, then the insurance company should update her plan to comply with the law.

The woman's plight is indeed sad, but all of us who had a good, affordable health plan must get used to the idea that Obamacare is worth our sacrifice if it provides America's poor people with high-quality health care.

America's poor have suffered unspeakable injustices. Giving them premier, worry-free health insurance coverage is just one way we can try to make it up to them.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
