Fair enough, there are still a few deniers left, but to few to worry about now.
As for particulates, they are just as serious an issue as they always were, be it coal smog or leaded petrol.

I think it's cool, just not ready for prime time is all.

    See Texas!

You don’t make any sense at all. Just repeating the same empty phrases does not change the facts.

    The Texas electrical grid collapsed.

Right wing media shopped a false claim that frozen windmills were the culprit.

    That meme was discredited.

But you wanted to hear it, so you keep repeating it. Never mind the facts.

If Texas was doing such a great job handling this crisis, as you have claimed twice now, there wouldn’t be people freezing in Texas.

This is the lastest symptom of Texas’ failure to invest in its own infrastructure.

Moreover, this happened in 2011, and twice in the 1990’s.

    Texas has such a great

Well, the lie that this thread was based on has been thoroughly discredited. None of the people here bashing renewables has the slightest idea what they’re talking about, and they make it abundantly and defiantly clear.

I’m repeating the truth. Dems are struggling right now because they never even began to consider to issues of the policy they want. And now as they are freezing to death in some circumstances the right is simply using gas.

the left never saw this comimg

I don't know bout that, I have seen both sides comment on Texas was not prepared, even though this has happened many times in the past.. So clearly there is an agreement that Texas dropped the ball by not being prepared be it proper types of windmills, NG delivery and power grid performance..

That about tells me all I needed to know from both sides of this issue...

This wouldn't have happened if you hadn't been on your own power grid. Blame these fools...

There is no more leaded petrol.
Not "deniers" but not alarmists either. Please see the works of Nir Shaviv and Henrik Svensmark.

At the LEAST they will have to be taken apart and cleaned and inspected, if that oil blew out while they were still turning...........could be major.

The Polar Vortex is responsible and it's impacted by climate change.

Sorry to burst your Right Wing bubbles .................The problems with the Grid going down is not Wind or Solar

Texas shut down for maintenance a Large part of its grid in order to get ready for the heavy summer electricity requirements

If they had not done so it would have caused so much problems

Ordinarily, ERCOT plans for winter to be much warmer and anticipates a lower energy demand. Power providers often schedule downtime and maintenance during the winter months to prepare for the massive annual surge in electricity

The term polar vortex was created by the weather channel to get people to watch it. It's a cold front.

And this is why GW'ers say they win every argument. When it's really cold it's due to GW, when it's really hot it's due to GW. That's an easy position to defend like that.

Well, since this is the fourth time it has collapsed in the last thirty years, and there were warnings that it was on the brink in last summer’s heat waves, I guess not.

The oil refineries are shutting down and the gas wells are freezing.

This is the crux of the problem.

Climate change is likely responsible. Best vote for a denier.

Climate change is HERE but that is some of the problem - as long as there is one ice cube still floating in a cocktail somewhere the denialists will keep claiming global warming is not happening!

Yes, it's a strong cold front. Give it a scary name to sensationalize it and voila! Liberals get really excited over this stuff. It's winter and it can get really cold sometimes.

Electric utilities are deregulated in my state. I can buy power from whomever I want to. I’m only tied to the local grid for transmission. I can shop my rates, which have gone from 13.5 cents per kwh to 6.7 kwh now.

That about sums it up too.

This windmill meme seems to have started on one of those social media safe spaces that many Trump supporters retreated to. Intevitably, it went right to the right wing blogs, and then out of the mouths of the talk radio.

They used the collapse of the Texas grid to invent blame solely on wind power.

I’m sure they’re already fundraising off of it.

Plausible, but you seem to be the only person who knows about this schedule.
Regardless, wind and solar failed. The only reason the failure was not bigger is because wind and solar have not been built out that much. Had there been more "progress" the failure would have been worse.
