While I agree with most of what you say - not sure this qualifies as "the worst scandal" - perhaps one of the worst though.

Hiding the fact that the Covid was a man made genetically engineered virus created in a lab conducting research that we fincanced, funded, and were fully aware of - and fully aware that it was the US (along with others) that opened pandora's box - is perhaps a bigger scandal than the Meuller clown show.

I do agree with this.
Despite China obfuscating and resisting any investigation, it's clear COVID-19 came from the Wuhan lab. We were helping fund it.

I would not put it past Democrats or the Chinese to have intentionally released it, either, given Trump's tariffs' effect on the Chinese and the number of Congressional members that are personally invested in Chinese ventures of one form or another.

I firmly believe it was intentional, and as such, an act of war against the rest of the world.

When Bush was president and signed the law established by the whole of the congress, he delivered orders to our intelligence that the only time they can follow an American on the line is if the Terrorist first contacted the American. I never followed up on Obama nor Trump to see if that was modified.

 

IMHO, Iran-Contra was far worse since we had the CIA selling military weapons to one of our enemies in order to illegally fund a coup attempt in another country. I imagine if I wanted to deep dive I would find things even in the election realm worse.

Hopefully this true history will be properly recorded and when we finally get a responsible Congress measures enacted to prevent any future administrations from politically weaponizing our law enforcement and intelligence agencies to defeat their political opponents.
