Its a known fact that the Palestinians are the worlds only UNWRA officially recognized multi generational refugee population. Yet another example of UN diplomatic stupidity.

The Palestinians get so much aid as a direct result of their unique status since 1967 of being citizens of a "belligerently occupied territory" whose previous status had been under dispute since 1948.

Its a Gordian clustermuck. The Palestinians deserve better and Israel deserves peace and security. Neither is willing to trust the other and there are too many hard core religious nutters (on both sides) with too much power.
