Is it possible? What would Sharia do to the Constitution? What would daily life look like in America. Freedom and Democracy are values that are unique to Christian-Judeo ethics. Our country is importing Muslim refugees that are hostile to our American values & we are paying for it.
In a democracy like America, how could your legal system be totally overhauled and replaced by Sharia law? Give me a timeline of events.
This question could easily be restated as....WOULD AMERICA STILL BE AMERICA UNDER CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE? Now I have been to the Middle East TOO many times and I have great contempt for Sharia Law. But I also have contempt for any Religion attempting to force it's misguided mythological ideology upon any one or any Nation. AboveAlpha
Of course America would not be America under Sharia law, we are a secular country. Adding religion to our government would be catastrophic.
why should we RISK it, hmm? Has any other Europrean, Christian nation profited by doing this? Several countries have lost their butts by allowing it to get started. Like France and UK.
Not only from a general perspective: a Western democracy, not only America, is lay, so that no religion based legal system can substitute the system of laws coming from the institutions and approved by means of democratic method ... that is to say approved by the majority of an assembly of representatives or by the President who is elected in the countries where this process exists. But this means also that those institutions can change those laws, even stating the contrary [imaging a country with Sharia law where women are obliged to wear a veil today and tomorrow, thanks to a vote of the "Sharia assembly" women are obliged to walk around in mini skirt and without veil ... that would be a quite curious Sharia based legal system!]. But also from an American constitutional perspective. US Constitution [Article VI - 3] If this is the principal, no Sharia system, without a modification of the Constitution could prevent the presence of a lay or Christian or Buddhist or atheist majority in the Senate ... Amendment 1 Would Sharia grant this? An other modification to the Constitution would be required ... And we could go on ...
This can only happen via revolution or some seizure of power. And I can hardly imagine the circumstances that can lead to that. Unless the majority of the population turns into Islam. Which is unlikely.
I think Islam will lose against secularism. I know several Muslims that have moved to US or even one that was born here. Only one is still faithful. Boobs, beer and football are strong...
Sharia is not compatible with the constitution so it would take a majority of Americans converting and then having a constitutional convention to change it. But Sharia could be democratic in the sense that it can allow people to vote for their leaders, judges, and scholars. At least I have not found anything in it that would disallow that. Of course there would be requirements before a person would be allowed to vote but we have requirements as well. They would just be religious based instead of age or circumstance based. Democracy does not require equality unfortunately.
"Would America still be America under Sharia Law?" America would not be America under any religious law... Biblical, Sharia, any of them Religious freedom is one of the things that makes America what it is The Muslim God should be removed from our pledge and money..... .
Since many thousands there was no one country which could exist without religion. America was a great country until liberals began to fight Christianity and God. Today is Christianity defeated and most of churches practically clinical dead, it is too much place for other Religion. Say 'thanks' to liberals, in fifty years entire America will be extremely poor, with donkeys of former freeways and with Islam as State Religion. Chinese, who are more and more converting to Christianity now, as Superpower N 1 will laugh about Sharia Republic USA where all scientist were beheaded, schools closed and books burned.
