    The report I read yesterday indicated the shooting was done by local police. IDK.

    When milliseconds make the difference, you don't have time to decide whether a person is actually armed. Officers tend to respond to the threat.

    and really, anyone should be able to do the same, not just cops

    but without a cop cam recording it, might be harder to prove it was self defense
