The Tea Party isn't separate from religion; more than enough evidence to prove that.

In every post you show that you do, as you know. He is a vengeful God! Try the recommended humility.

Nice try but your atheist opinion is not important to my relationship with Jesus

I think the Tea Party is full of HUMAN beings, like the others. Religion is used as a tool by those human beings; that is indisputable.

We can argue exactly HOW people haves used religion/God in any and all of the political groups... but to say that religion or God has NO place amongst those in the Tea Party, is generally ludicrous.

I'm not quite sure Jesus would care more about millionaires than the sick and the poor.

As a Christian I can confirm 100% that this video is 100% freakin' true and the crazies in the Tea Party (and other extreme conservatives) are backwards in their thinking of Jesus and how Christians should behave at all.

What I don't understand is why many self-called Christians don't follow the teachings of Jesus. For example no violence. Or other things.

You have no relationship with Jesus - you are worshipping the work of your own brain. READ the New Testament and stop talking nonsense. There are scarcely any Christians in the US - just believers in 'the Judeo-Christian tradition', i.e. phonies.

I'm a believer in Jesus (and how he showed things in His life). I doubt that many politicians who do not address the NEEDS of the many (by the very policies they promote)... care all that much about what 'Jesus' cares about.

Jesus (as I know Him from the Bible) would be called a socialist (today).

You lie about others and then recommend that he be more humble?

What in the last two post from ptif219 show that he hates anyone??

Liberals are so lucky that God does not know you. Your body will just dissolve into the Earth from which you came and with no spirit your soul will sink into the depths of the Earth where it is very hot.

You are evidently a TRUE AMERICAN CHRISTIAN - full of hate and ignorance of the New Testament. Do read it some time.

I am also a Christian and on the Democrat side. I just think it's embarrassing that anyone who talks about the wealth gap is considered "envious". Was Jesus jealous of wealthy people? Absolutely not, he simply cared for those who couldn't take care of themselves, like children, the elderly, the sick, etc.

It's quite embarrassing, because I do side with a lot of social conservative beliefs, but their infatuation with money makes it impossible for me to be a Republican until it changes.

So Christians should not have free speech and should not be allowed in Politics?

Jesus told his Disciples to get a sword. Is that no violence?

I can relate to ALL of what you said. I used to be a "social" Conservative myself. But after seeing how the ever-Right-progressing Republican party showed me that they all but hated, the poor, minorities, middle-class, non-Christians and gays...etc., I was DONE AND DONE with them about 20 years ago. But as you say, ON TOP OF THAT... now they seem to literally WORSHIP money as some god or virtue, and at the same freakin' time evoke the name of God, Jesus and their 'religion'. The hypocrisy is appalling! (ARRRGGHHH!!!) :(

And of course, people are just people. But the criticisms we have for one another, ought not make us enemies as Americans. It would be BEST if we cleaned our own houses for sure, but now it looks like we need to lay down some new guidelines (literally new laws) for cleaning up the place. Really, that is unavoidable. And (let's say it out loud, not in some "quiet-room" Mr. Romney)... MONEY is THE major corrupting (dirt) factor.

It is time for THIS (or laws as good as) Amendment to our U.S. Constitution.

I have never said that I'm a christian. You do know that the Constantine administration edited the original christian bible? They picked the books that they liked and discarded the others.

I don't rely on any book written by man to understand God. I can see that God created the universe and all that happens on this planet fits into the greater outcome of creation.

For my information, please tell me how Republicans are infatuated with money.

Let me point out to you that it is the left that wants more and more money from the rich. The dem politicians spend more money than the riches person on this planet. They use the money to trap people in a cycle of dependence from which it is hard to escape. Did you notice that many of the OWS people are suffering the burden of education loans? People in despair support the person who promises them that they care about them and will solve their problem or cure their ailments.

Which is better for mankind, a dependence society that breads more and more dependence or a society that forces its people to produce something of value before they can have a cell phone, high speed internet to go with food, housing, education, etc.??

There is no utopia. I never have to work again but I spend most of my time working. I invent drilling tools for the oil field, new brakes for cars that work better than the current disc brakes and will last longer than the car, energy exploitation methods that will free the whole planet from oil.

A lot of rich people make more and more money because it is the gauge of what they have accomplished with their hard work. Why work if there is nothing to show for it. Attacking capital gains will hurt the country more than 9/11 did.

Yet you vote for people dying on the streets because they can't afford healthcare, not educating our children, not helping out the elderly, and letting people starve to death.

    It's a trade off.

Do you think Jesus weighed their "hearts" along with telling them that?

Some forms of violence are evil, others are right and necessary. Under what circumstances would Jesus approve of them striking at someone with a weapon?

So no, Jesus wasn't like this society today; where many suggest: Go out EVERYONE and get a gun. YEAH!!!

Good point. And people just need to STOP thinking/pretending that government or the American people are necessarily going to reflect the ways and principles of Christ. Some will and some won't; that is reality.

And do what with that sword? Turn the other cheek? Do you only follow certain things that jesus supposedly said?
