Zimmerman vs Trayvon: What a mess-

Zimmerman is multi-racial in background. His appearance is clearly mixed.

But Zimmerman is a European name, so African Americans may see him as representative of white people.

 

And how much cred does Sharpton have after the Tawana Brawley debacle. She lied and he never even apologized for his part in blowing it up. That's what he does.
He promotes mob fervor. He's doing it now. How does that help?

 

I actually agree with all that....

I can 100% understand why righties would be sceptical of anything Sharptons involved in....but I think this is one of the rare times hes on the right side of justice.

Stop hijacking the thread to derail it and stay on the topic. The topic is the shooting, the witnesses, and the way the MSM handled it.

 

He's different than anyone else in the public eye...how? Did George Bush profusely apologize for the Yellowcake debacle to each and every parent who lost a child in the war?

No, of course they don't apologize. They don't step out of office and they don't leave the public eye.

This is the game they play and why it is best to save your own soul by staying out of it.

 

If you want to promote the lack of apologies by the left, do remember it travels in both directions, with Nancy Grace as the prime example.

Wow have you ever watched the news? Hell Casey Anthony was tried and convicted 2 years before she even sat in a court room. Nancy Grace badgered a lady over her missing kid so bad that the woman ended up killing herself. The media slants (*)(*)(*)(*) all the time. It is a ratings game after all.

I am trying to figure out how the media, and by the media I assume the news, is slanting this in either direction.

It appears to me that a man, who was armed, confronted a teen whose crime appears to be walking. The teen then ends up dead. I don't see the slant here.

Everyone deserves due process. This is just another ruse to create legislation that renders due process extinct. We've already been going that way anyway. They use extreme cases to justify removing our rights.

Terrorism has taken fewer American lives in the last 30 years than lightning has killed people in a single year, but...we have the Patriot Act.

They claim we received vital information from water-boarding (without having to prove we did) so that they could "kill" someone based off that information--without ever having to show us his body, but...whatever. Who needs a body, right? Waterboarding works.

A respectable black man was dragged to death in Texas and a precious gay kid was killed in Wyoming out of a nation of 380 million, but we need a Hate Crimes bill wherein the fine print pretty much allows people to expand it to whatever purpose they need in order to prosecute people for any number of speech issues.

Now this. I wonder what new bill will be generated in this poor child's name? Possibly another bill that strips our freedom so that his only legacy is the advancement of a police state that strips us of privacy and the ability to speak freely.

Trayvon was killed because of that idiot Zimmerman. He will never grow old. His mother will never play with her grandchildren or serve her son turkey at Thanksgiving. THEIR family is affected for the REST of their lives. There will be a giant hole in all of their hearts.

They feel the support of the public now...in two years they will be the dregs of society as a new, sexier crime takes place.

It is an indecency that their humanity will be lost to further some ridiculous partisan debate.

 

The real victims here are those with bullets in their bodies as distinct from the real perpetrators, those being the ones that pull the triggers.

I learned that from countless right wing posters who claim it's not the gun but the person behind it.

 

Actually the very first story I read said he was suspended from school over a non violent issue. That was back before this really started picking up steam. Nobody ever hid that fact.

 

Another strawman. Where in that article is that mentioned? However that are trying to paint him as a model student. If his is truly was suspended and his lawyer is blocking his school records.. Nevermind they rarely show recent pics now they are showing pics of him much younger. According to Martins own father that was NOT him crying out for help in that 911 call. So many things the media has not corrected themselves on. I know the media only cares about ratings but they are throwing fuel onto the fire.

 

More offtopic. Please find another thread to moan about the right wing and guns. Unless you want to claim Zimmerman was some rabid rightwinger.....
