In the next step of the cracking of the black vote, and representation, Arthur Davis has switched parties. The former member of the Black caucus made the move on his blog today. Story here: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/05/30/former-black-caucus-members-switches-to-gop I said it before and I'll say it again. Barack Obama will completely split the black vote. This is monumental. Davis will take a lot of people with him. And Colin Powell can kiss my ass.
I'll take this bet. If Obama does actually completely split the black vote come November, I'll leave this forum forever. If he doesn't, you have to leave. Bet?
Whoa...one of the DNC's rising stars in Congress...oops! "former rising star" is more like it , I suppose....
Well, I'm not sure what your definition of "splitting" is, but mine revolves around the phrase '50/50'. What's yours consist of?
... it's Artur Davis ... Looks like he has to move from Alabama to Virginia first ... establish residency then run on a *white* Virginia ticket ... looks like about 2015 at the earliest ... *If I were to run, it would be as a Republican* http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns...avis-is-now-a-virginia-republican-124788.html *And I am in the process of changing my voter registration from Alabama to Virginia, a development which likely does represent a closing of one chapter and perhaps the opening of another. As to the horse-race question that animated parts of the blogosphere, it is true that people whose judgment I value have asked me to weigh the prospect of running in one of the Northern Virginia congressional districts in 2014 or 2016, or alternatively, for a seat in the Virginia Legislature in 2015. If that sounds imprecise, it’s a function of how uncertain political opportunities can be — and if that sounds expedient, never lose sight of the fact that politics is not wishfulness, it’s the execution of a long, draining process to win votes and help and relationships while your adversaries are working just as hard to tear down the ground you build* ~ Artur Davis
I don't think that will happen, except among black business owners. How can one reliably KNOW what % of blacks voted for Obama, as we have secret balloting here in America. Exit polls? Not all that reliable, especially if one fears a "visit" from the NBP thugs for publicly stating a non vote for Obama, from a black voter.
I didn't realize that a "ticket" has "color". But then again, I'm not a Leftninny, so I don't see the world through "race-colored glasses"...
No. You aren't getting something like that from me. You wouldn't hold up your end in the first place. You're a liberal.
LOL Seriously? The last estimate I saw had 96% of African American voters voting for Obama. But since those exit polls "aren't" reliable, what do you think the actual percent is? 60%?
IS it OK if people call the "communists" the communists? We remember all the "outrage" over calling Van Jones what he CALLED HIMSELF... Will that be allowed in Leftninny Dogma Before Truth World?
Nah, saying the African American vote is going to be '50/50' Obama/Romney in November is the absurd part.
When Colin Powell was with the Bush adm., I kept waiting for him to protest the war in Iraq and sending troops there, but he said NOTHING. Now, when we got a black president running, he votes for him. He currently is lying and playing coy and saying he has not made up his mind yet on this year's vote. Watch him in any interview, he will defend Obama against any criticism. He's nothing but Obama's lackey. I lost all respect for him in the Bush administration when he kept his mouth shut and now he should just shut...up....again.
I lost respect for him when he didn't do anything to keep Scooter Libby from being prosecuted for Armitages treachery. Powell is nothing but a snake.
I said split. I didn't claim it to be a perfectly even split. You need some kind of reading comprehension course.
"Rising star"? Really? He lost his reelection bid in a primary. He wanted the Democratic Party to move center-right and court the Dixie vote.
You actually said, "completely split." That of course hints at a '50/50' split for those grammar fanatics out there.
