Another unique talent, gone from our gene pool. The underbelly of mankind is matched by it's genius. Or at least it was. I believe that successive wars, among other events, have literally taken so many good, brilliant, and talented men out of the gene pool, that their genes were simply not passed along, or not passed along to the extent that they could have been.

The most altruistic, benevolent, intelligent, or academic are often the first to be killed, and one of the reasons for that, imo, is to literally and symbolically remove them from the gene pool.

To some extent, we can measure this.

Moreover, the best of men have intellect AND a rebel nature. Followers are ten a penny, but he who speaks out, he who swims against the tides? Not so much.

Again, and I was saying this to TMR the other day, Europe for example, we (in our long and changing history), have produced many men who ticked both of these boxes, in their given fields, some famous, some less so. I feel men with those qualities were more common previously.

It is my feeling also that we have replaced the healthy rebellion with a passive psyche, but not a peaceful or enlightened one, exactly. Apathetic and ignorant passive. Negative.

It is my feeling that we have also replaced that intellect, with less intellect, in short, become dumbed down, less appreciative of true talent, and with the attention span of a carrot.
