Rubbish, the ONLY withdrawal they've ever made was at US Taxpayers exxpense , in exchange for increased US AID - same with Gaza which became a financial burden which Israel could no longer afford.


While Israel might appear to have "withdrawn "from Gaza they still restricted Gaza citizens movements and maintained total control over Gaza's airspace and borders , not to mention that Israeli operational forces continued provocative incursions .

What most Americans do not get, with one significant exception, is that a British person, much like an Israeli, has first hand experience of what you may call freedom fighters/terrorists, whaever.

I see a lot to be drawn between the situation with the IRA and that of Hamas or Hezbollah even.

Yes, of course there are differences in nuance, but there are more broad similarities, than there are not.

That is possibly why the IRA consider themselves the comrades of Hamas and Hezbollah. They see Israel, as how they say Britian.

What were called the 'Troubles', seemed to go on...forever.

And it was always on the news. And there was just no end in sight, the hate being palpable that it was. Both becoming entrenched and dogmatic.

Look at it now. As young kid, all I saw on the news, was Irishman, in balaclavas, that just seemed to be attacking Britain, for no reason at all.

My young mind could only see it that ONE way, as that is how it was given to us.

As I grew up, I realised there was a whole back story to it, every bit as tangled, as that of the situation over in the Israel/Palestine.

I saw that the IRA, at least the original IRA, could be said to have a righteous cause, for they were NOT always the organsied paramilitary group, as you may remember them, but Irish farmers, workers, etc, etc.

Naturally, as time went on, the evolved into what literally as an army, with I might add, a LOT of money and arms coming from stupid Americans, who knew nothing yet again, but because they felt they were Irish Americans, they saw it all like something almost romantic.

Yes, America, you never want to speak about the fact that you did not arrest ONE funder of the IRA, did you, and yet you dare, in your teenage arrogance, feel tht you are always best placed to speak on matters of terrorism.

You did nothing to stop the funding to the IRA, who used that to murder British innocents, who knew nothing of what was really going on.

But then your mafia leaders fund terrorism more than any other nation in the World.

I can actually identify more with an Israeli than an American, just as I am sure an Irish Repubican may identify with a Palestinian, rather than an American.

As I read more about it, I realised that the one sided narrative we were given about the truth, was just propagana.

You cannot defend the murder of innocents by the IRA, of course not, but never was any context or back story offered.

One thing I will say, two as it goes.

For all the faults on the British side, we did not invade Ireland, on occupy it, or collectively punish the people, due to some IRA being hid there.

A lot of Irish Priests were known to hold secrets and even arms for the IRA, but we did not go around demonising Priests, or Catholics wherever they were, for instance, we did not by extension began hating on Italian Catholics.

Israel, in whatever form, certainly must be held to account, on all aspects of Geneva convention and adhere to all UNSC Resolutions.

They undermine, to borrow your word, that,more than ANY other nation state.

In all truth, a state the size of Israel, and with it's voting population, should be as internationally heard of, as ...Wales.
