http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/01/25/saxby-chambliss-to-retire-at-end-of-term/?hpt=hp_t4 Saxby Chambliss, the Republican senator from Georgia, said Friday that the "legislative gridlock and partisan posturing" had grown so impenetrable in Washington that he would not seek re-election in 2014, Another established Republican going away, just another vindication of Gov Jinal and Gov Christie. So RWers, keep digging your heels in, keep up the conspiracies, soon that is all you have left in politics.
Really, other than the fact that Republicans swore to defeat every proposal from Pres Obama is a sign of cooperation from RWers. You epitomize what Sen Chambliss, Gov Jindal and Gov Christie have been saying.
We have a massive spending problem in this country. It is currently the single most destructive force in our society. We need more TEA Party representation.
I don't know. It might just be a validation of all the money that can be earned in the private sector. Plus how much fun is it to be in the minority when you can't just filibuster via email?
Seems its the Senate that has defeated every budget put before them since, when was that again??? How many years have we operated without a budget? No, you can't blame the Right for everything, well, you can you'd simply look like a fool, but that's your right... What compromises have been offered to the Republicans? What choice do they have? The people that put them there have expectations, they are only doing what they were elected to do...
I grow tired of having to do your homework and refresh your memory. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/...-a-10-to-1-deficit-deal-on-spending-and-taxes A 10-to-1 deal would mean a deal with 91% spending cuts and 9% tax hikes. That's not a compromise, that's a huge victory for supply-side fundamentalism. Only a true right-wing lunatic would reject that kind of a deal.
You brought it up, I'd think you'd have some evidence to back the claim. No worries, we all know what's said in the primaries is etched in stone and all...
Yeah, it was the Democrats that used the filibuster a record setting number of times.....you betcha. Do the righties even think about what they puke out? - - - Updated - - - The republicans lose another seat!
The republicans are the minority, it's up to them to compromise, not the other way around. Thats how it works.
Here's another one, stop be so lazy and look stuff up yourself. http://www.buzzfeed.com/rebeccaberg/senate-democrats-begrudgingly-accept-fiscal-cliff
So you skip over the last one and bring what? I see what you are doing, making claims, not backing them up and then deflecting to something else... Bravo!
Another example of why RWers are losing their political status. Listen up, if your ilk doesn't get off its backside, and work things out, you will eventually be worked out of representation. You can save this post for the later years for confirmation. If you don't think Democrats haven't made any compromises, then your post is legit. One of us is right.
Exactly. Rabble rousing in the private sector is so much more profitable than rabble rousing in the Senate.
Republicans were elected not to raise taxes, all of your so-called compromises demand raising taxes, its not going to happen. The process is sabotaged from the start, and you feel as if you can cast blame on one side? Elections have consequences, and this is one of them... I like my side, I support it, but I will admit they are part of the problem, but I can't support them in taking a deal that goes contrary to the very things that put them in office. There are a million things that can be compromised and work, we all know that, raising taxes isn't one of them. Republicans aren't going anywhere, I remember hearing that in 2008, did 2010 slip your mind?
