Sadanie, making you mad is so easy it isn't even fun any more. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

I guess shooting is your favorite way to deal with what you cannot control, . . .like so many people who are incapable to dealing with the reality of life!

By the way. . .you didn't make me "mad," your comment (and the following ones) made me sick.

And I find shooting fish in a barrel to be a sick comment also.

What's coming next? Shooting puppies at their mother's tits?

You're still going on with this absurdity?

I asked you four times to explain what damages Zimmerman can claim against the Martin family and you refuse to answer.

Earlier you seemed to think Zimmerman could sue the Martin family for what the State did.

It would be nice if you could proffer a responsive answer.

    What?

If the family didn't sue, then who did?

A wrongful death claim is a legal action. You don't settle a case you don't file.

    Perhaps someone can explain?

Insurance companies, if they are not confident they could successfully fight a case will often settle before it reaches the point of court proceedings.

    In this case, they settled.

that's called PROFILING by the left.

I call it it being aware of the situation. While it may have sucked for you to swallow your pride, you're correct, it's quite possible they were looking for a reason to escalate the situation and then claim innocence later.

Or some oblivious kid (like those don't abound) accidentally bumped into the stroller and didn't even know it and just kept on walking...

How old are you? Common knowledge would dictate that teens are far more dangerous now than in the 80s, because I have personal experience to back it up. There was NEVER a chance of anyone I knew even thinking of pulling a gun or barely a knife on anyone at school. You had a fight, it happened and it was over. A black eye, that was it. Now, kids will kill you for posting an insult on Facebook.

I didn't have to lock my doors growing up. Didn't have to lock car doors even. At 5 or 6 I could run around the neighborhood mostly unchecked with all the other kids and no parents were worried about anyone getting kidnapped. I could disappear for the whole day during the summer, with NO CELL PHONES and they weren't worried where I was. How about now? I could get lost in the mall or dept store and some stranger would've brought me back to my parents. How about now? I could shoot a bow and arrow in the front yard against a tree and no one would worry about it. How about now? At 10 yrs old I could walk into the hobby store and buy a BBgun, arrows, throwing stars and the owner didn't care at all. He knew us all by name and our parents. How about now? My parents trusted all the other parents in the neighborhood to watch whatever kids were around, yell at them if they acted stupid and we'd actually listen to an adult and be scared if we offended/upset them. How about NOW?

My kids are growing up in a completely different world from the one I grew up in, mostly the 80s. And the ONLY thing better about it, is the technology. I wish I could just let my 5 yr old run down the sidewalk to her friends house. Nope. I have to worry that some IDIOT not paying attention who's driving way too fast, will go right through her. Ride her bike on the street? Forget about it. When I grew up, we played hockey, football and baseball in the street. When a car came, we moved aside. No big deal. We didn't get yelled at by the driver or reported to the cops. How about NOW?

Yes, but someone had to press a claim against the HOA before the insurance company got involved.

It is really amazing the amount of hate this Trayvon case seems to have brought to the surface over the past year...I guess it was always there, and just needed a catalyst......

I got a sneak peek at the amount when another member here who's always 'in-the-know' (secret evidence dumps) invited me along for their weekly lunch meeting with the SP/Crump team: Crump settled for the complete video series of 'The Ambulance Chasers', Sybrina settled for a $10 gift certificate from her local 'nail' place and Tracy settled for some used porn videos from a swap meet for when 'Daddy got a sweet tooth'.

Yes she does. And it's making a last few T supporters crazy. Wait until the defense somehow gets T's school records revealed. LOL

In a perfect world every one would be 'carrying' and if any one caused another person any harm, or destroyed any one else's property or stole anything from any one that person would be shot and killed on sight. Think of all the empty jail cells there would be. California could rent them out to help delay the state going bankrupt b/c of Liberal/Socialist/Marxist government programs. Sigh..... I think the Vikings had it right. 'Social Darwinism'.

Juvenile crime rates are lower than they have been in decades.
    Thats just a fact.

    The question is why.
I've read that much of it is due to to changing of laws mixed with economic changes.
The poor aren't as poor and decriminalizing pot for instance.

This info is easily obtained via internet...it's also irrelevant to the topic/case at hand.

The kid probably was oblivious, but had pred said "hey, you just bumped my kid" and that teen escalates the situation which leads to a fight where Pred ends up having to shoot the teen dead because the teen is a better fighter, or Pred feels thats the only way to protect his/her kid.... lefties would be questioning if pred was trying to start problem with the 'innocent' teen and could have avoided everything by going home and leaving it to the cops.

They would label it profiling and try to demonize him/her when it was the teen that caused the issue by overreacting.

I find the amount of sheer, undiluted hatred which has surfaced over this case amazing too....and the obsession over it is mind boggling. My gawd, you'd think that there had never been another kid killed - only Trayvon Martin........

Just recently a thread was posted about a yr old baby who was shot in the face while strapped in his stroller.....

Oh yeah, the baby was white, his killer was a 17 yr old black kid - not to much liberal anger in that thread and it quickly died....one liberal poster even posted a bunch of vile comments about the baby's mother from some blog, then she quickly disappeared.....

Sure makes a person wonder about other people's core values......

I am. I'd happily save the 'Makers' hundreds of thousands of dollars in future food/clothing/housing costs......be they in the 'hood' or a Federal prison.
Society is moving into a new phase we can term 'Survivalist'. The economy can no longer afford to feed/cloth and house the 'Takers' any more. Not the ones who have grown up without the slightest idea what's it's like to be a civil/honest/moral/productive person valued in society. The appetite for continuing to tolerate these people is waning as the 'Makers' or having a harder and harder time making ends meet.
Five years ago when the guy down the street and his wife were both happily working and bringing in enough money for the annual family holiday some young Black men (yes, unbelievably that were all Black. We know this b/c they were caught with a garage full of other stolen electronics) broke into their house and stole all the electronics. The insurance covered most of the loss but the sense of being violated has never left them. Now only the Dad is working. Mom and Dad and the kids are all now accomplished marksmen. Every room in the house has hidden weapons caches. The whole family has CC permits. Every car full of young Black men who drive by are watched on surveillance cams. Oh yeah, I didn't bother to mention anything about car loads of young White men BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANY!!!!!! Lately I was having a beer with this neighbor and his wife in their yard when a car full of young Black men drove slowly past. I heard the woman softly say: "Come get some mother-*******".
All it's going to take to blow the lid off is one too many innocent people getting 'flash mobbed' and beat and robbed and killed by a bunch (notice they always have to do their despicable acts of violence in groups) of sub-humans.
It's going to be a long hot summer.

Did it take months of pleading from the parents and community to get charges pressed in that case?

What makes the Martin case so famous is that it shows how colorblind justice is when the victim is black.
