Saw that on the news yesterday, makes sense, that's how we keep track on weapon shipments from Iran, weapon factory in Sudan, weapon ships in oceans etc'.

Ill ask you this thou, what kind of an intelligence agency accepts evidence from another without crossing with info that got for themselves, other sources ? let alone get to a war position ? if it makes no sense check the other option that the info from Israel is accurate and real, the west sat on its hands for years while Syrians in their thousands died, only an undenyable truth would get them off their asses and do something they dont really want to. but you can accuse the "rightful"-"our crap doesnt stink" stance of the West for that, not the truth itself.

I think everyone including Israel prefered Assad untill he made something no one could have hide, even now he wont be toppled and that probebly proves the west "support" more than anything, 20 years ago US soldiers would already be marching in Damascus by now.

Obviously it will not be acceptable to me if that is as the Guardian says, their bulk evidence. That is the concerning feature. I understand we are going to hear from the US or the UK what the evidence is.

I think the rest of what you say is a bit muddled. Originally the Syrians did not want intervention. I will admit that when we were invading Libya I felt if anywhere needed help it was Syria. I now know that the original protestors did not want foreign intervention. People deserted the Syrian Military, often I am told having been bribed to do so. They found their bank accounts full of money and then followed the orders of that money and went from a non violent revolution to a violent one. The Brits and the US have I think been involved in training and things for a long time. The main problem is what the opposition is now. Even Nato admits around 80% of Syrians would prefer to be under Assad than the opposition which has become either corrupted or extremist. Obama made a mistake when he said chemical weapons were the red line and is being pushed to take action. Even now they are saying that the intent is to deliver a strike which will give Assad the message that chemical weapons are not acceptable but not change the situation on the ground - as one person said, if that is possible will take a miracle. The US does not want the opposition to take control pretty much knowing the blood bath which will happen to all non extremists there.

If as the guardian article says the bulk of their evidence is from Israel then you can bet Israel will get the blame for the attack. We as yet have been provided with no undeniable truth that it was Assad which sent the chemical weapons.

Honestly...I care about who used these weapons almost as much as I care where Morsi is right now. Either side in this fiasco could have, and would have done the wonderful and honorable deed of killing a thousand or so innocent people in the most terrible of ways simply because they could. These peoples are not worthy of my respect, attention, help, concern or compassion.

Go ahead and keep killing each other, you have had a couple thousand years of practice....and I am sure Allah wants you to perfect it over the next few.

I think it is way too early to dismiss the culpability of the Assad regime for two reasons. The first is that the government of a nation known to have been researching WMDs is more likely to be able to successfully carry out such an attack; the other is that the Assad regime has a long history of lying like a rug.

You can't dismiss that they may be to blame but they are not necessarily so. To attack when it may yet be proved to have been the rebels is foolishness in the extreme particularly as people are starting to talk this may be the start of WW3. They should let the UN finish it's job and then there should be Geneva 2.

I remember the gassing of the Kurds in Iraq. I was horrified. I remember talking to my neighbour who worked for the Labour party. She said oh nobody will do anything about that nowadays....and sure enough we and the US continued giving Saddam weapons. Russia has good reason to believe it is just an excuse.

Can you bribe an entire company of Ameriacn/British/Freach troops- in the middle of war! - to switch sides ?, is it really a question of money ?

I know enough to say I dont know enough, what littleI do know is the Arab league itself outcasted Assad and accepted the Rebel leadership, that for everyone involved it is best NOT to be involved yet here we are watching our leaders mumble and shuffle their feet toward an action in Syria.

If the intel Israel supplied are lies I suppose you mean...

I like it how they tend to forget its their own gov that decides on accepting evidence, decides on actions to be taken, decides on targets and decides on the attack - but "you can bet" its Israel fault lol :)

what are you talking about? I was talking about Syrian deserters.

Yes, I too did not follow it for some time. However due to now knowing that it is the Saudi's and Qatar who have been supplying the rebels, I think they had an ulterior motive than what was best for Syria. That might explain the Arab League. Saudi Arabia is I understand their biggest benefactor. Loads of states were also saying they saw the rebels as the legitimate state!

Hmmmm. Well if Israel provided that intel and it was lies then I think they would be to blame even though the US, UK and France would have responsibility for not checking. I notice people on tv discussing are becoming more questioning than before and admit you cannot just take intel at face value.

If the US does it based on Israel intel and we never know for sure, then Israel will be open to be blamed for it even if what it says is the truth. I am just saying that as reality.

I think the move is wrong regardless of whether the Assad regime is responsible. It seems that the US just want to make a show and everyone knows that we cannot know what that will result in.

I have to say something about that - No move is wrong when harmless civillians are being gassed.
    Nothing.
    Nada.

From time to time, the world needs to show that it cares.
    And its about time.

Yes, all other jews are dumb.
    Ashkenazis are smart.

    Ok.

I believe you need to take the whole situation together and work for the best solution. No one and that includes Israel can claim innocence here. With Israel white Phosphorous. I already said in this thread or another how disgusted I was when I saw the Kurds gassed which I saw on my tv and we did nothing then. I expected war against Saddam then but we only continued supplying Iraq with weapons. The US also has used and has a long line of using or complicity which have been put out already.

Do not get me wrong. I do not like chemical weapons. I do not like civilians killed by any means but the most important thing right now I think is to find a resolution. It surely would be far better to push Russia to push the Assad regime if they had been using them and get some peace sorted out which is going to be extremely difficult with all the Al Qaeda there, trying already to pinch a part of Syria for a state for themselves.

It is because the West has turned a blind eye or even been guilty itself so often that I said I could understand why Russia sees this as just an excuse to attack - on this or another thread.

The situation is very complicated, and we in Israel might get hurt to some degree, but tomething must be done.
I dont know what the right move is, but any move will be the right move if it will stop, or at least stop the escelation of whatever is happening in syria in the last 2 years.

    a) I tend to disregard it without evidence because its not an easy feat to bribe soldiers in the middle of war b) if that is true and they were bribed then I suspect there is more than money involved or my view on the Syrian ppl will take a huge dive...

But everything in this world is due to intersts, where/when do you draw a line and say "I accept that" ?

You can never accept as fact evidence supplied just from one source, every cop knows that, I want to belive states are being run in abit more responsible way than police stations...

If the US goes to war against its best intersts soley because of Israel Intel.........I cant even complete the sentence because it just sounds crazy, I dont belive that.

I think eliminating Assad will be a mistake, other than that, bombing Syrian murderes will be a good weekend show, assuming they will bomb Friday eve....

in this case i will make your day, Assad did not do it no one (except a small group of Iran haters ) believes that Assad´s regime´d do COMMIT PUBLIC SUICIDE when its SO CLOSE TO TOTAL VICTORY . read comments on youtube, BBC, el Jazeera etc, all know that it was false flag operation and very bad executed false flag operation
