By Erik Wasson - 10/16/13 10:20 AM ET Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has agreed to allow a vote in the House on the emerging Senate debt-ceiling deal, according to a Senate source.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) were racing Wednesday to put the finishing touches on the deal ahead of Thursday's deadline for raising the $16.7 trillion debt limit. The draft of the Senate agreement would raise the debt ceiling until Feb. 7, reopen the government until Jan. 15 and form a budget conference to resolve the automatic spending cuts under sequestration.

"The Speaker will bring that bill to the House floor," Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) told Bloomberg television Wednesday morning. http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-mon...er-to-allow-vote-on-senate-deal#ixzz2htxtuoJx The Rightwing Media will now spin this utter defeat for the Tea Party....naturally...into a "big victory despite what the Lib'rul Media is saying!!!" Let 'em. Even most of their audience knows the REAL truth.
Never underestimate the stupidity of the radical right. If they don't somehow spin this into a moral victory for the TP then they'll start talking about Civil War again
The sheep are so pleased with themselves for being on the "cool team" that they're completely comfortable with cheering for the utter economic destruction of an entire country. Ladies and Gentlemen there is no more powerful force in the known universe than IGNORANCE. If you are totally dependent on the stability of the US dollar I have an honest pity and concern for your future.
After this later battle the House needs a new speaker he clearly has no clue how to manage the Teaterrorist. Hopefully he will lose his next election as well. The good thing is with social media and tv America isnt gonna forget the hostage taking that took place by the Republicans
Lol I forgot the 3rd tactic of the Infection Cycle; If you can't spin this as a moral victory, rally the crazies to bring out their Confederate flags and start whistling dixie, talking about a civil war. If that doesn't work, start trying to sell people gold with a 100% melt value mark-up, right Goldline?
What was it all about? Looks like a lot of political maneuvering for nothing. http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/16/politics/shutdown-showdown/
It is Obama who urged his followers to bring a gun to the fight with Republicans. If a war breaks out it will be your side that starts it.
Now...tell us how much you love and idolize Ted Cruz. - - - Updated - - - Don't forget "Food Insurance" and "Survival Seeds"......the poor dupes who listen to Glenn Beck load up on that useless crap, while Glenn laughs all the way to the bank.
The Tea Party lost the battle because they pursued a losing strategy. Wars are won one battle at a time.
The problem is the Republicans have lost their MINDS! Allowing their ideological obsessions and desire for personal power to be trumping rationality and statesmanship is the hallmark of the Right's slide into irrelevancy.
By saying no it is the equivalent to bringing a gun? Sir I'm hoping that civil war never breaks out between the North and the South, but I think after this fiasco, it would be the first war the US has fought that would really mean something.
I wonder how much this Tea Party shutdown cost the nation? I can hardly wait for economists to release the figures.
So we might have a continuing resolution through the Holidays if it passes the House. I would hardly call it "over". As for the "nothing", you apparently don't see their end game.
I do like Ted Cruz. He is one of a few in Washington who can see where America is heading if we don't mend our ways. Wait, let me amend that. Cruz is one of the few in Washington who cares what happens to America in a dark future created by libs and moderates.
Well summed up Joe. So we'll find a way to extend the limit on our credit cards...because we need them to pay our bills....and then we'll run right up to that limit again, and we'll see everyone back here in a handful of months to do it all over again. At this point, why not just remove the debt limit entirely. it seems the concept and meanings of a "limit" have been long forgotten.
Thats completely false. The republican party told the truth, the republican party tried to stop obamacare. When april 16th rolls around youll know who told the truth and who told you a fat sack of lies.
Yeah, this is just another kick of the can down the road. Which will keep happening until someone gets a majority. It's sad.
Youre really celebrating the government borrowing more money to pay our bills? really dude, really??? wtf?
