Correction. The day Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and declared war on America was the day they basically told the US: "Let's see what you've got". Well they did see what the US had. And all it took was two bombs and the Japanese turned into 'surrender monkeys'. Not the best 'look' for Japan. So in a way the Japanese did "nuke themselves" b/c they brought whatever reaction America retaliated with on themselves.
Note to the next country who thinks it can attack America and win. That's not exactly correct. Obama AKA Neville Chamberlain is still the President. Don't 'sucker-punch' America. America might have a gun. Oh sorry, I'm convoluting now.
Obama want's to lift the sanctions on Iran b/c Iran is "promising" to 'pretty soon now' 'maybe' 'think about the 'possibility' of halting it's nuclear bomb making program.

Nope. The democrats have lost Immigration reform by agreeing to another CR and giving the GOP the argument 'We can't afford more people on welfare" instead of "We don't like brown people". They are strangling the liberal To Do list, but the left just keeps on fiddling as their ship sinks. Democrats not in safe seats will now be committing political suicide if they support immigration reform in 2014.

 

The Democrats lost 63 seats in the House in 2010 and gained back 8 in 2012. No amount of gerrymandering could accomplish that.

pssst... The government was shut down because we couldnt pay our bills, and we couldnt borrow more money to pay our bills.

obama promised obamacare was only going to cost 900 billion, the real cost is 2.6 trillion. We are doomed, and I do not see a reason to celebrate.

I was thinking this very same thing. The people who will sign on to this plan are like those people who checked yes for, "Have you read the terms and agree?" They hardly now what's in it, they are going for the selling points. While I don't know if it is bad, I have the feeling it won't turn out to be half as spectacular as any of the other things Obama proposed turned out. This is a salemen with a poor record, but still we buy...

Yeah. It will be the same game, whether it's Rep majoity or Dem majority. Just a different field...

 

All this maneuvering is because Republicans are obviously afraid Americans will want Obamacare; they no doubt anticipate a shift in the opinion polls in coming months. This Tea Party political theater has a shelf life and they know it....time is running out. Tick, tick, tick.

 

I hear that all the time Mac, but if you look at expenditures Democrats don't spend anymore than Republicans.

The big problem is that defense contracting and healthcare are the economy. If we stop being world police and scale defense spending back to small units like SEALs, there will be thousands upon thousands out of work. If we try to reduce the cost of healthcare, you get the kind of pushback we have now.

Long story short...Americans are not a profitable workforce on the average globally...and that is why our recovery was jobless. Stock market and investment capital is there, but why invest in a workforce mired in regulation and lazy entitled attitudes?

 

And yet Democrats control the Senate and the White House. Gee whiz I wonder how that happened?

 

Today the Senate and House will vote on a bill that opens the govt, extends the debt ceiling, and creates a commission to deal with future spending cuts.

NO cuts in ObamaCare. NO spending cuts.

uh...no. The Gov't shut down because the Dems finally found their backbone and decided to call the Repubs on tryin to circumvent the democratic process and attack a law that had passed congress as well as the SC. That's why it shut down.

As for OC, yeah, your right, and those chickens will come home to roost once all is said and done.
