The reason the GOP is getting blamed for the shutdown is because Boehner, at the command of the Tea Party, didn't take the budget bill to the floor for a vote. He held it up and started making demands. The first demand was to defund Obamacare.
Like it or not, the shutdown of the government was the GOP's fault.

You failed to mention those who have their hand out for corporate welfare. Oh wait, they vote Republican because they are praised as the makers, not the takers. They take government money and send jobs out of this country. I don't like how the Republicans demonize the poor and elderly but praise the fat cats who don't need tax money but take it and give themselves raises with it. Thanks to the Republicans, the rich have gotten richer while the middle class is shrinking into poverty. Those who are willing to work are demonized because they can't find a job.

It the Republicans had their way, we would return to the Robber Barron days where everyone lived in company housing and we all sold our souls to the company store.

 

The only interviews I've heard were people saying they got bored the last week and a half, and are ready to get back to work.

Look at the facts, the Senate passed bills that reflected what the Republicans wanted for a budget, and the house still turned their noses up at them. Then they attached the Obamacare bundle as a poison pill in an attempt to make it look like Dems wouldn't negotiate, and the final proof in my opinion is when the Republican House leadership changed the rules so that only the speaker can introduce the Senate bill on the floor just prior to the doo-doo hitting the fan.

This is 100% the Republican Party's fault, and it's common sense that says so. It was manufactured by the republicans so they could play chicken with the economy and our government in an attempt to break Obamacare. I actually am surprised the Democrats held out against this terrorist action in our own government, I sort of expected them to fold as they have on many other issues, but was glad to see them take the stance America as a whole takes when faced with terrorism, you don't negotiate with Terrorists who are threatening to blow up things.

Anyone with a half ounce of intelligence knows that, if the terrorists had sent a clean CR, the government would not have been shut down. Adding unrealistic demands to a CR, knowing that the demands would not be accepted and continuing to modify the demand to others that would not be accepted - caused the shut down by the terrorists.

Guess what, a CR acceptable to the majority did pass. Finding out that McConnell got his own pound of flesh is not new but it is still disgusting.

Obama and Harry Reid Failed up until 6 months ago,or 5 years into Obama's
Presidency to debate let alone submit or pass a budget.
Under Newt Gingrich in 1994 and his takeover,the Republican-led New House
managed a first.FOUR Consecutive Balanced budgets.Under Obama there has yet to
be a single budget passed,let alone a balanced one.We have been operating month
to month.Obama talked like a complete incompetent when insisting that our debt
ceiling had to be raised in order to avoid default { not true } by further saying
raising it " would not raise the debt by a dime ".
The GOP never talked Default.Not raising the debt ceiling would not necessarily
cause any default.We have Tax receipts that could easily handle paying our
debt holders and also Social Security and most basic government services.
Let me restate.Republicans Never used a Default as a threat.Republicans did
maintain that the debt limit did not need to be raised in order to pay the nation's bills.
Obama,conversely used his allies in the media and himself with heated words
to portray republicans.Like Terrorists,Ransom,Exrtortion.
When in fact according to Larry Kudlow,who accused the President of threatening
" to pull the whole system down for his own gain. "
