Is that what's written in the official court records?

    Is DEAD in all caps?

Or..... like the rest of us based in reality understand, was he acquitted because the jury wasn't convinced it was unjustified?

Rhetorical, since all the rest of us know the answer.

Ahhh there were other witnesses to the event and their testimony supported Zimmerman's story.

And that story is fallacious on it's face. No you can't simply claim self defense and be aquitted. The evidence must support the claim and if the prosecution can prove otherwise you will be convicted. The overwhelming evidence in this case was that Martin assaulted, without cause, Zimmerman and was threatening him with serious bodily harm. That was supported by the witnesses and the physical evidence.

And it was not a stand your ground defense, Zimmerman as never given a chance to stand his ground as the assault was immediate and without warning to him.

Now still waiting for you to post the Florida law concerning stalking and your explanation of how Zimmerman violated that law.

Have you ever heard of this thing called "common sense"? If you're a parent of a teenager, it's something you might want to talk to him/her about b/c it just might save their life.... like if they think they're being followed, particularly at nitetime where the visibility isn't that great, don't attack the person b/c they just might have a gun.... or even a knife.

That's one of the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)es of life when someone is dumb enuf to attack a stranger.... whether they think they're 'justified' or not.....

That feeling of being 'justified' would quickly fade away when suddenly you find yourself dead......

I hope this case is a wake-up call to parents of teens to talk to them about using their common sense and finding safety and if they really believe they're in serious danger and have a cell phone on them - then forget about yakking w/their gf and call 911..... duh! Good old fashioned common sense - it just might save your life.

The jury disagreed with the law as it was written.

Can you prove each juror felt this way?

translation.... I just got showed that I was wrong, can't admit I'm wrong, so I will try to deflect by becoming a grammar nazi.... lol

so, you ready to admit my point you avoided.... that to have stalking, you must do it REPEATEDLY? (wow, no red squiggly line under the word that time)

or a defense term for those that have victim mentality.... didn't get that job you wanted.... couldn't have been because the white guy had more education.... what, he only has a better education because he's white..... RACE-BAITING

why are you not saying it the racist way Trayvon did, remember, you did it earlier... creepy ass cracka I think was the term... Race-baiting. The only racist that night was Trayvon.

I don't care if that was his natural reaction or not.... if you circle back and attack, you are illegal.... sorry. I know you like to make up your own legal definitions for crimes to whatever suites your political agenda (race-baiting), but again, just because you don't agree with a legal definition, does not mean Z is guilty of anything but getting jumped by a 17 y.o.

so why didn't you say that instead of white.... oh wait, I know.... #race-baiting

The jury decided correctly. There wasn't enough evidence to convict.

That aside, Zimmerhero was no victim here. We will never know what he did to provoke Trayvon to tackle him. But considering the guy was a wannabe cop, we don't really have to use the depths of our imaginations to conclude he attempted some sort of citizens arrest.

and even if you are correct in painting every juror that way without any proof... it doesn't matter. I don't agree with every definition of "date-rape" but that doesn't give me the right to find someone guilty of it just because I don't like the guy

The juror did right by the law.... end of story.

    No he didn't.

Wouldn't you if someone was banging your head into concrete?

Progressives are obsessed with him. They keep bringing him back out.

Perhaps he can make a buck this way - I think he's pretty broke. If the media is still interested, he is free to keep talking if he wants.

Why do you feel sorry for someone who even though he made so many bad decisions one night that led to the death of an innocent teenager yet he's still alive and whining?

The only reason George is going around giving interviews is that the Michael Dunn trial has had most of the media's attention recently.

His interveiws were more like-Hey remember me?

I feel sorry for him for many reasons. First and foremost is that George Zimmerman is not a smart man. No matter what you think about what he did, that is an unavoidable conclusion. He is pretty damned stupid. When stupid people do stupid things because it is in their nature, I feel bad for them. I also feel bad for him because he is a victim of the sort of sensationalist press that is damaging this country every day. For most people, his guilt or innocence was established long before he went to trial. I don't view that as fair, as I think that the "innocent until proven guilty" standard should be applied not only in a legal sense, but on a personal level as well.

Zimmerman's trial won't be over until he closes his eyes for the final time.

It looks as if his conscience won't allow him to rest in peace.

I see you don't have any sympathy for Trayvon who is a victim of George's stupidity?

I find it interesting that you don't blame George for the sensationalism since he used the media to start his beg site on the internet and raked in several hundred thousand dollars which he used to pay off bills and live the life of a celebrity until he ran out of money.

George seems to enjoy the attention and can't stay out of the news very long. Even his girlfriend stated that he gets depressed when he's not in the news.

But yeah it's the media's fault that George is an attention (w)hore.

Trayvon is a victim of his own stupidity. He had many options that night and picked the one that ended up with him dead.

Trayvon would have lived had he not confronted and then attacked George. As for money, George is 2.5 million in debt according to the article; debt that wouldn't have happened had race-baiting Obama not said, "If I had a son he would look like . . . "

That's not true. I have lots of sympathy for Trayvon. I am very sorry that a young man got killed. It is a tragedy, and I wish the entire thing had never happened.

I don't blame the media for reporting on it. I blame the media for doing a bad job reporting on it. The level of baseless speculation and guesswork that was done is a travesty. Both Trayvon and Zimmerman were made into caricatures. They were dehumanized and made into monsters, depending on what agenda a particular outlet wanted to push. It wasn't good reporting done to further explore the issues of race relations, poverty, or any of the other issues that should have been covered - it was a soap opera. It was about getting people riled up more than about delivering the facts, and both Zimmerman and Trayvon were victimized by this process.

And plenty to support his claim it was self-defense. Remember this was an affirmative defense, he admitted to killing Martin.

Sure he was he was assaulted and then victimized after the fact by the MSM and the persecutor in the case.

You speak as if for a fact there was a provocation. The only "provocation" was that Zimmerman was watching him. Then you left out the beating to which Martin subjected Zimmerman.

Why is someone desiring to be a policeman a derogatory thing in your view?

It would be purely in your imagination with no supporting facts to back it up. What sort of "citizens arrest" would Zimmerman have even imagined he could make and had he thought that why didn't he make this "citizens arrest" back at the truck when he first saw Martin. He could have pulled the gun inside the truck stepped out and said "YOU'RE UNDER ARREST"!!

Of course there is not a shred of evidence Zimmerman ever tried to detain Martin or even confront him and in fact the evidence shows otherwise.

Why do you people keep posting these lies? The NEN dispatcher told him "we don't want you doing that", the NEN dispatcher has no authority to tell anyone to do anything, over 2 MINUTES AFTER he had left the truck and 100 years away from it.

So why do you keep repeating this canard?

How did the media do a bad job reporting it?

When someone is let go after a homicide has been committed and not held in jail while the homicide is being investigated most normal people will speculate. At every turn evidence like George's NEN was withheld from Trayvon's family and the public. That didn't make you suspicous?

The fact that the police chief of Sanford held a press conference declaring that George Zimmerman was claiming SYG made everyone's alarm bells go off. 99.9999% of the time the police are adverserial to the suspect they don't align themselves with the suspect and the police chief doesn't act as a suspect's defense attorney.

The fact is that Sanford FL has had racial issues for a very long time. It's where Jackie Robinson was run out of town by the Klan almost half a century ago.

The fact is that George's father went public and made this a poltical issue by including the president and the Attorney General in his conspiracy theories just like George did the other day.

The evidence of the case was avaliable thanks to Florida's Sunshine Law. People had the choice to review the evidence for themselves or accept the media's interpretation of the evidence.

The few facts that we do know would have never seen the light of day if this had not become a media story.

Trayvon would have lived if George had stayed in his truck and followed Neighborhood Watch rules.

I think that O'Mara is helping George out with his divorce settlement by stating that George owed him and Skeletor $2 million for defending him. If Mara was really owed that much money he would have stayed attached to the NBC lawsuit hoping against hope that NBC will settle (they won't).

How did Trayvon confront George if George was able to immobilize Trayvon's left arm by holding it under his right armpit and then George was able to shoot Trayvon with the gun in his right hand?

And what was Trayvon's right hand doing while George had Trayvon's left arm trapped? LOL

Just face it George could have kept Trayvon like that but he decided to murder him instead because he didn't want Trayvon telling the police what actually happened?

He should have been convicted of Murder 1.

How was it bad reporting? Well, since it is apparent that you want me to abandon my cool neutrality in order to come over to Team Trayvon, I'll argue it from that perspective.

One, why did I need to know Trayvon has smoked marijuana? What teenaged kid hasn't smoked marijuana? Is this relevant to the case? Is there some sort of link between getting shot and smoking marijuana? No, there isn't. And yet this fact was literally one of the top news stories at that time.

Two, why do I need to know that Trayvon had texted to his friends? I mean, let's be honest here: the kid wasn't a damned racist, but because he used a couple inappropriate words in a text message, all of a sudden he is being made out to be some sort of cold-blooded racist. It was total bullcrap. I don't care to know what some kid was saying to his friends - if you were to put my text messages to my friends in the national media, I would look like the biggest monster ever, because I say stupid crap that I don't mean and I don't take it seriously, because they are my friends. I can joke and be silly. How is it relevant to the case?

Three, why am I hearing about the intimate details of this trial anyways? The more controversial the trial, the less we should know about it until the trial is over. The entire point of having a jury is to allow them to decide. The entire point of media blackouts is to ensure a jury can be picked who is capable of evaluating the facts impartially. When the media decides to do this kind of thing, it doesn't just hurt the people targeted - it hurts everyone. We all have a right to a fair trial, and you can't get that when everybody everywhere has made up their mind prior to the trial itself.

I could easily provide Zimmerman's side of things, but needless to say, I don't appreciate your attempt to make this an "us vs. them" argument.

That seems like a stretch. I know you like to believe that all blacks are belligerent animals, but I think it takes a bit more than watching someone to make even the most violent person go this far.

"Wannabe" implies that he wants to be a cop but was deemed unfit for the job. Which he was.

Yet you have no problem jumping to the conclusion that Zimmerhero was the blameless victim because that theory is supported by his self-serving testimony.
Black kid in hoddie = PC in his mind
I don't think he ever pulled the gun on Martin until the very end. That is, I don't think he used the gun in the attempted arrest. He tried to use his weight.
He chased Martin from his car, right? Yeah. No evidence he tried to confront him...

You can blame the smearing of Trayvon on George's lawyers and the State for not sealing Trayvon's cell phone records.

As for details of the evidence you have to blame Florida's Sunshine Law.

The reason that this trial was so irresistable is because it was about race and perceptions and how white people believe that they shouldn't have to abide by rules while blacks don't have any rights.

I am a white person. I believe that I should have to abide by the same rules as everyone else. Not to say that systematic racism against blacks doesn't exist - it most certainly does. But I would be careful about making such massive generalizations.

And no, I don't blame it on Zimmerman's lawyer. He was doing his job, which was to raise doubts about Trayvon's character. I blame it on the private businesses that decide to capitalize on this (*)(*)(*)(*), and to abandon all journalistic integrity in order to get an extra couple points during primetime.
