I have to admit, this is one of the very few times I've agreed with the First Lady. However, for a bit different reasons. The First Lady said they were knuckleheads for thinking "they’re invincible" and not buying Obama Care insurance. I say they're knuckleheads because they overwhelmingly voted for the very people who are trying to force insurance on them and will fine them if they don't. THEN calls them knuckleheads on National TV when they want to choose for themselves what to do. Maybe when the young folks making $25,000 a years has the IRS land on their income tax return "liberating" $250 from it in a fine because they choose not to have health insurance, they'll select who they vote for more carefully. Life is a learning experience from beginning to end.

Lol.... yeah, MO has such an eloquent way of speaking......

"For the 1st time in my adult life I'm PROUD of my country!"

Now she calls the young people 'knuckleheads' if they don't sign up for ACA.... yes, the First Lady is a real class act.......lol.

That wasn't condescending at all.

I guess young people aren't the "Change" that Michelle has been waiting for. Clearly, they're not as dumb as MO thinks...

knuckles is a reference to a male fist, so shes putting down all males mainly here and generally categorizing them as supermen

Her statement is bigoted and offensive. She should apologize immediately for her baseless and ageist generalization.

Right now, there are thousands of brave, young Americans serving in Afghanistan. They are putting their lives on the line everyday in service to her husband, the President. Her comment is an outrageous slander on the honor and dignity of these young Americans, some of whom will return with physical and psychological injuries they will carry for the rest of their lives. Michelle Obama must be forced to apologize for her bigoted and tasteless remarks, which unfairly characterize young Americans as irresponsible and stupid. She should be ashamed.

Do you appreciate people insulting your intelligence, Cubed?

I know I don't, particularly when it comes from a woman whose intelligence and judgement are clearly inferior to my own....

It's an insult and a generalization based upon someone's age. That is fundamentally no different than insults and generalizations based upon someone's race or gender. People should be judged on an individual basis, not lumped into groups. Her comments are bigoted, tasteless, and offensive, and she should be made to apologize. Do you have any reason why she shouldn't?

Never sure why the left lives in a fairy tale world, the right has been telling them for 4 year's in the political forums, the kids don't want to waste a $500 or a grand a year on health insurance. They would rather spend that money on having fun ....and they say the right is out touch with reality.

While I am not in the age group of the "knuckleheads" I am currently attending College as many people of the "knucklehead" group are. The ironic thing is that if you are a student I believe that you get the subsidies to cover the cost of Obamacare. Thus signing up all these "knuckleheads" would in fact be a net drain on Obamacare instead of a boon. And no not everyone can remain on their parents insurance. In fact with most of the families I grew up around you were expected to be out the door and on your own when you turned 18 and if you wanted to go to a good college then you have better save up your own damn money and get good grades for scholarships. The most that was paid for were stuff like weddings, someone's first car (usually a $500 junker) and maybe.......maybe a little money to get their kids started with college, but certainly not their entire tuition.

What the hell happened to this country when people are actually bragging about being on their parents insurance when they are 25 years old. Get your own damn insurance for (*)(*)(*)(*) sake and quit leeching off of everyone else.

    Clearly.

I think your overreacting, that's all. All young people do dumb stuff. It's the fun part of being young. Being called a knucklehead is probably one of the least insulting things I've ever heard.

...Sorry, I grew up around people calling each other names for fun all the time, so I got a thick skin about it. If someone directly insults me with the intention of insulting me without any fun or humour in it, then yea I would get insulted. That is not the case here. Young people do dumb things. Knucklhead is a quaint term for jovial ribbing.

Look, she was on a late night show and was half way joking about young people who tend to hurt themselves doing stuping things (which isn't an inaccurate statement).

Is it news to you that most drug use, crime, family abandonment, murder, failed education, etc is associated with Black men. Does that mean that all Black men are criminals? What if Mrs. Bush had said that Black men are nothing but pimps and criminals?

Moochell hated American before Barry took office so I guess she will hate America again if these knuckleheads don't prop up obama-care for her.

What the hell does her comment have to do with race? One might think this was personal.

    Confirmed.

It's inherently mean-spirited to disparage an entire group of people based upon their age, sex, religion, or race.

Would it be okay for someone to say that black people are criminals? Or do you think some insulting generalizations are okay while others aren't?

So you think it's okay to disparage an entire group of people as long as it's done in a jovial or joking manner? Does that mean conservative politicians are now allowed to say insulting things about racial minorities, homosexuals, and women, so long as it's done in a joking manner?

I'm glad to see that our resident progressives have no problem with disparaging generalizations that are based upon someone's age, but if it's a disparaging generalization based upon someone's race, gender, or sexual orientation, then it's totally unacceptable. Do I have that right?
