    I agree, NT is a 180 from OT.
    Most christians don't view the OT as mostly allegorical. Many catholics don't ASAIK. And I come from a religion that says the bible is 100% inspired literal word of God.

    As with the creation story, the bible isn't the only mythical flood story either. Why you chose the torah as your source for all this is a mystery. There are 100s if not 1000s you can choose from.

    Have you read any of the catechisms? They definitely treat most of the OT as allegorical. Not sure what your religion is. I am catholic but have different ideas about some things. Anyway got to get to unloading big catch. Fishing was fast today.

    Well, I meant theism in general, but yeah. If you think I hate all theists, rather than simply disliking the bigotry and idiocy certain people who happen to be Christians post on this forum, then feel free to either give some evidence of that, or keep on hypocritically throwing mud.

    This seems to correspond nicely with the recent science that tells us that Neanderthals and Modern men carry some of the same genes, meaning they inbred with one another.

    Hmmm,...
    More important it seems to be, that this mention of inbreeding corresponds with the scientific facts about our evolution.

    What we read in Gen 6 is pretty closely related to the factual story of mankind, evolving through 22 different species or "begats".
    Modern man appears after inbreeding, and all other species or "begats" then disappear, except for the three (racial) stocks of Shem, Japheth, and Ham.

    I am confirmed Lutheran, MS. We have no allegorical parts of the bible. Except some parables by Jesus. I have completely different ideas now. I don't believe any part of the bible as literal any more. Or inspired word.

    I don't support them, but, I am a realist and know it is a strong part of human nature, especially from puberty to mid life. So I'm not vocally against them. We need to educate and protect, IMO, about the results of such actions. Take actions to prevent as much as we can to keep unwanted pregnancies to a minimum.

    I don't think anyone 'supports' promiscuity, Dave. It's possible to be sexually prudent AND sexually active, you know. You'll find out one day, if you start to see women as your friends and equals.

    You are just too old now to be practicing sexual promiscuity,... but you still recommend or at least support it, which Christianity does not.

    Nevertheless, most "Christians" today did as you did, when a teenager, and worked at being sexually promiscuous.
    They were acting like gentiles.

    They changed...
    They changed when they got older and the Libido quieted down.

    That is what is wrong with these Christians of today.

    The Gay Life is based upon sexual promiscuity, and the current surge of abortions and illegitimacy indicates that people are sexually active, single, hence promiscuous.
