what is the definition of "running your own life" though? If there is a rule about not allowing a person to sell lemonade on public property without a permit (in order to keep the amount of litter, and the number of vendors from becoming detrimental to the area), some would say that in no way is an impediment to their life, and others cry from the rooftops and decry that sort of regulation.

No it's not. First off, Marxism has never been strong in the US. Second, if it was marxist there wouldn't have been any elections at all. Yes there were military districts, and the forced passing of amendments but seeing as how in the end that didn't really matter, it's not that much of a point. In fact in the end the south was able to end reconstruction with the election Rutherford B Hayes. Economic subjugation? Not really. If that was the case, the "40 acres and a mule" that the Radicals wanted would have been a reality. Instead sharecropping sprung up.

The point is that as long as Dr Carson reads and defends RW propaganda, such as supporting/believing/helping the government is like being a slave or other such nonsense, you will support him. But the moment that Dr. Carson says something that you do not agree with, you and all the "conservatives," or should I say white nationalist extremists, will turn on him the same way you turned on Gen Powell. And that is the sad, disturbing truth.

No plainly I didnt mention his colour at all. My comments were not racist in the slightest, but I am not surprised that you would want to interpret them as such, since his remarks were completely over the top stupid.
